I bought two varieties of heirloom melon seeds from Baker's Creek Heirloom Seeds this year. I am also building six 6 x 4 raised bed gardens this year. Has anyone grown melons in smaller spaces or raised beds. Would appreciate any advice and ideas on what to use for budget friendly trellises. Thanks. ;D

Melons grow very well in raised beds. Remember to keep the water and feed up to them though. I also grew some smaller varieties in 12 inch plastic pots this year for curiosities sake. They only produced two fruits each but considering the space and tiny vines, the food to space ratio was surprisingly good.

I didn't bring any of the panels I built for trellis' when I moved to OH.
That said, my SIL brought me a nice bundle of black bamboo. That bamboo and some twine can trellis any of the smaller squash or mellons.
Vining fruit vegetables can be space hogs of a raised bed if not trellised. Go with DLD proposed grow out.
