Running in the 70's for the next week, too warm for March, hope it doesn't bring everything out and then freeze it up solid later like it did several years ago.
Been busy as a bee all winter doing mostly stuff related to growing food, but not obvious to the onlooker. Working on a big yellow machine in the shop with steel tracks and a big bucket may not look like gardening, but the thing sure will give my growing activities a big boost once the land is cleared of trees and rocks. And then as I can find time the next shop project will be a firewood burning tractor to replace my gas hog tractor, I just gotta quite pouring money down the drain of a gas pump just to get some work done. Since I don't make that much in dollers and sence, need to save what I do make for something more important than running the machine around. Got a sorghum press last fall, gonna start growing an acre or more of sweet sorghum every year. And I need the steam machine to crank the press and heat the pan at the same time. Yah I do a little foundry and machining in my home shop, a little of this and that, but I'm through with working on modern junk that's designed to rob the owners, going to back up to the days of real practical machines that run on farm byproducts and the firewood that lies around in unlimited quantities. Loggers have been cutting the timber on the company land around us for the last year, there's more firewood out there than I could use in a lifetime. I might just start collecting it to sell by the semi load, since we do have a buyer waiting.
