Are they annual or perennial, and which ones do you grow?

DLD if you ever get to 'The Garden Forums' there is in their new 'New Members Lounge' one "rare440" who aught to be a likely candidate to recruit to your cactus thread here. I dunno how to do that discreetly. S/he does cactii to just about bonsai standard...
Nice work, I'm just sayin'

Monty (Rare440) has been aproached by email to stop by here and visit. Now I'm guessing 'Monty' is a he, but the internet is a profound filter that masks both inflection and gender...

Last year my brother gave me a piece of what he called Plains Prickly Pear cactus. We'll see if it makes the winter outside.

I saw your emails about "picking my brain." Feel free to pick away. Let me know what's on your minds, and I'll do my best to answer.

I grow (mostly) hearty to my zone trees in shallow trays-pots. And did keep a few cactii when I had more (indoor) space in NH. So with a bonsai background I have some idea of whats involved with keeping a plant for years at a time ina pot.
Do you have photos of that repotting?
Monty takes good pictures, did I say that already?

Are they annual or perennial, and which ones do you grow? Most cactii are perrenial. Putting threads about them in a flower-garden forum is actually the right forum for them. For all of cactus willingness to just sit there; when they do finally get around to flowering, they make up for the lack.

I have a lot of pictures I can post, but, honestly, I can't figure out how to do it on this board. Can someone please give me step-by-step instructions? Yes, I seem to be somewhat technically challenged at the moment. Thanks everyone!
