I snapped the pics today at the edge of town. This sunflower has been facing the pole this summer, even when the setting sun was behind it.

The wife picked up some sunflower seeds today and I have a question... do they have "all day" sun or can they take some shade?

Much like corn they can tolerate some shade, but the more sun they get the bigger, stronger and faster they'll grow. You'll get the best results if you put them in as close to full sun as possible. Or at least that's been my experience. MB
