While I was out for a walk before the Trick-or-Treaters got too thick, I found this beauty growing in an alley in the old part of town. I walked fast back home to get my Kodak and car. The photo was taken at 5.42p. It sure looks like Elephant Head Amaranth. I don't know of anyone else in town growing this besides me. The flower is about 7"(17.8cm) tall and growing around .4 mile(.6km) from the house. I'm blaming it on the birds! ;D

Yup, the birds must of done it. Looks nice - now you'll know where to get fresh seeds if you need any.
I planted a little orange amaranth, but it only got 3 or 4 inches tall before it burned up. Hard to get it started around here.

I don't know of anyone else in town growing this besides me. Oops! My next-door neighbors grow some. They didn't scatter any seed.
