Okay this is going to sound stupid but don't be like me, try it first next time you wake up in the middle of the night with those horrible leg cramps just get you a couple swallows of pickle juice, yes I said pickle juice and give it about 10 or 15 minutes and they will be gone! My wife told me this and I thought she was crazy but it does work!

For me, it seems I get Charlie Horses when I haven't been getting enough milk and milk products in my diet. I catchup by eating more cereal and yoghurt/cottage cheese.

The ingredient in the almonds is magnesium.

The BEST quick fix for foot or leg cramps..... Tonic Water.... yep, just about 4 ounces of that will immediatley get rid of you cramp. It is the quinine in it that works.

Learning to eat a banana everyday took care of mine. I agree. I used to get really bad cramps in my toes. Once I started taking a vitamin and making sure I was getting enough potassium, toe cramps happen rarely now.

Heard of another home remedy and it worked, just get that beautiful yellow squeeze jar of mustard and take a spoonful, I love mustard anyways, so this worked out well...

I'm wondering if we shouldn't all be concerned about your diet...

Hopefully then you can regain some of your ability to absorb nutrients. But that process takes a while. In the meantime, have you asked your doctor about your leg and toe cramps? I know my grandmother had to have vitamin and iron shots for years because she lost the ability to absorb nutrients. (I'm not sure what caused her problem, but in her case the nutrient deficiencies were so severe that the shots were medically necessary just to keep her functioning.)

I have asked him, and at the time he said take something I forget now what it was, it didn't help. You are right tho as soon as my gut heals from all the damage of Celiac I will start to heal and healing will let me start absorbing vitamins and minerals. It is basically a waiting game. It has been about 8 months since I have been diagnosed so it can take years to heal , and will never be healed 100% but he did say right now just eat as healthy as I can. try and get my vitamins and minerals by eating fresh veggies and stuff. But yea I am going to try Almonds.

i eat almonds, dairy, bananas, magnesium sups. regularly and still get cramps: hands and forearms after gardening, and calfs especially when swimming which bothers me. my doctor told me to try quinine water, interesting topic and content here.
