for your screen? Strat and I were up late trying to figure this out and we found out it possibly is the screen resolution setting, so here is a way to fix it.
1. Click on the green start button on the bottom left of your screen.
2. In the Control Panel window, open Display.
Note: In Microsoft Windows XP, depending on how your operating system is setup, you may not see the Display icon. To correct this, click on the link on the left-hand side of the Control Panel window that says Switch to Classic View.
3. In the Display Properties window, click on the Settings tab.
4. Locate the Screen resolution slider on the left-hand side of the window. Under most circumstances, the best choice is 800 by 600 pixels or 1024 by 768 pixels, possibly higher if you're using a 19" or larger monitor. The "best" setting is highly subjective to your personal preferences.
Note: Some types of software require the screen resolution settings to be set at a specific size. If you receive errors when opening certain software titles be sure to make any changes here as necessary.
5. Click the OK or Apply button to confirm the changes. If prompted, follow any additional on screen directions.
Hope this helps, if not just let me know and I'll do some searching to figure it out.

Thanks DLD. First, I changed my screen resolution to 1024 x 768 pixels. Then I followed LinFL's well-written instructions (below). From the Tools drop-down menu on FireFox, I chose Options and followed the steps Laura wrote and chose 16 for the Minimum Font Size. These actions made it so the forum displayed correctly on the screen with the font size big enough to read. Only took me nine months to try this!
Thanks, LinFL! Can you change the font size in your browser software? In Firefox you can set the minimum font size to any size you want. So you could use the higher screen resolution so the forum width fits, and then bump the font size up to a comfortable reading size. In Firefox, you change the minimum font size by: - Choose Options until the "Options" window pops up.
- Navigate to the "Content" tab.
- Fonts and Colors is about halfway down the Content tab - press the "Advanced" button on the right side.
- An "Advanced" window pops up; about halfway down you'll find
the "Minimum Font Size" drop-down button. Select the minimum size font you want.
- Press "OK" to get out of the Advanced pop-up, and press "OK" again to get out of the Options window.
Other browsers probably have options to adjust the font size as well. It's just a thought - don't know if it will help.
I'll be changing the screen resolution back to 800 x 600 when I'm doing other tasks on my computer. It's easy!

This is strange...I read this a couple days ago, and had no problems up to that point, and still haven't had any problems on this forum, but on another ProBoards forum - Tomato Depot - it spread out, and whatever caused that, also caused the font on my tablet to shrink, to fit it on the screen (no problem on my PC, due to the wide screen).
I guess some things I will only check out on my PC, not my tablet or phone!

I never thought of that, Dude! But then, I'm not really that computer savy.

Yeah, it's a pretty pic, but I will be happy to see it go. Way too big!

Did as laid out and NJT fit perfect on my screen. No scrolling back and forth or any other annoyance. Then left the site for others and everything messed up. Better to have one rogue site and adapt to it than everything else screwed up. Point is this, worked great before. Wasn't broken and didn't need fixing.

Or you could try pressing Ctrl and the "-" (minus) keys and see if that fixes the problem for you. (Thanks Tressa! )

Ctrl+ and Ctrl- are keyboard shortcuts that I use often. If I'm looking at something on-line and want to enlarge it to see better, Ctrl+ until I can see it well, then Ctrl- back to normal size. There is a list of keyboard shortcuts for Windows here. Shortcuts for Mac is here. Hope this helps.
