I've been hearing about this on TV and from friends so I thought I'd try it. Anyone have experience using this?

I think you have to be very careful with oil of oregano, as I understand it is easy to go overboard with it and people have severe reactions to it. Do you have any friends who are into or sell essential oils? They would be a place to start.

I have used it quite a bit, I am pretty sure it saved my life at one point, it is the new antibiotic that people are changing over to now that the other ones are not working anymore, they are doing this due to oregano oil's track record of killing bacteria for a few thousand years with no bacteria showing up with resistance to it. silver also has a good tract record, but either one you use, remember that it is medication, and not a daily thing.

My niece has a friend who sells essential oils so after reading all the benefits I bought a bottle of oregano oil. I put a tiny dot in a glass of water and drank it. Even though it was a tiny dot it tastes terrible. My husband did the same. The info says not only is it good for what respiratory stuff but that it works on eczema of which I have a tiny spot on my left leg. I touched the top of the vial with a q-tip and rubbed it on my leg. 30 minutes later I was having trouble breathing. I have an inhaler, which I use maybe twice a year, so I used it. Dummy me not relating it to the oregano I put a drop on my leg again this morning and tada I had to use my inhaler again. Now my head is stopped up and I have a sore throat. Is it a coincidence? Was I getting sick anyway? The mold count is high so is that the deal with needing the inhaler? No idea but I don't think I'll give the oregano oil another try.

People can be sensitive or allergic to just about anything. New allergies can develop at any time. Or it could be that you're not allergic to it per se, but it acts as an asthma trigger for you.
Regardless, if you had breathing problems twice in a row after using it, I'd avoid it.

I guess it's because the oil is so concentrated because I use dried oregano all the time. Glad I didn't rub it all over my feet like some people do.

I guess it's because the oil is so concentrated because I use dried oregano all the time. Glad I didn't rub it all over my feet like some people do. Probably. Generally, people who use essential oils use a carrier oil- they don't use the essential oil straight up because it is very intense and can cause troubles like you've experienced. Dr. Oz recommends 10 drops of oregano oil to 2 tablespoons of coconut oil for a natural hand sanitizer. Here's a link to an article of his that I found. www.doctoroz.com/videos/oil-oregano-guideOregano is not one of my favorite herbs for culinary use either, so I can only imagine the horrible taste of a drop in water. I hope you can find a way to safely use it!

I've got to say that dry spot I put the oil on is almost totally gone. I took a chance and put another dab on this morning. I kept the bottle in the zip lock bag while I opened it and touched the top with a Q-tip then closed the zip lock. So far no problems.

Maybe the fumes are so strong that they are a lung irritant for you. Sounds like a good application method you worked out. Nice to hear that it seems to work on your eczema.
Please do let me know if it keeps working for you. I might get some for my mom to try. Her eczema is mostly under control but she occasionally has a flare-up.

I've never been told that my spot is eczema but it's a dry spot, about the size of a dime, and it's been there forever but today it's almost gone. I put another dab on it this morning. Is is a coincidence? Who knows but lotion or no lotion this spot has remained and now it's almost gone. I read that it's also good for psorasis and other skin conditions. It'd be wise to mix it with something else if it's used on a large area.

My husband and I were talking about that spot that was on my leg the other day. It totally went away after that last application and has never come back, no scar, no redness, no nothing. You'd never know it had been there. I ended up giving the oil to my niece because we couldn't tolerate the smell but if I ever get another dry spot I'm going to borrow it back. Worked like a charm.
