Begging for rain. Which is odd for us this time of year. Last several days have all been 50-80% chance of rain but not a drop did we get. This sand gets dry so fast.
Going to have to close the blinds and do a rain dance!

It is pouring here now, with almost constant lightning. I'll find out tomorrow how much I actually got. It seems to be going much slower than usual, so there should be a lot more out there than from the past few storms.

The last few days have been low to mid 90's ( about average) but the temp right now is 56 with a high of 74. javascript:addS("http://www.animateit.net/data/media/smiley712/smiley-confused005.gif"," ")

59.3F at 2.30 in the afternoon with rain now and then. Carted my peppers indoors again yesterday. Reminds me of 1992...

I "only" got about 1 1/4" last night, and from what I heard, I was lucky, as just about 10 or 12 miles N they got hammered, with downed trees and power lines, and a possible tornado a little farther N.
Today I got even more rain - adding up to about 3" total - and it came down so fast that there was flooding everywhere! I got wet, but fortunately I had just finished out there when the thunderstorm hit. It sounded like a couple of those bolts hit across the street! I got home too late to see the news, to see who got it the worst this time, but I'll check it out at 11:00.
Checking my garden out, the only problem was my lime tree and curry tree blowing over. Nothing seems broken on any of the plants, and nothing is under water, so all is well. I just hope the tomatoes aren't splitting.

Today was beautiful especially for July... wifey and I had bought one of those 3 person yard swings and it was a joy sitting in it and it in the 70's this evening... we just came in from out there watching the lightning bugs

At noon, we're about 63F and it's a dark day. Not in any hurry to get outside. I won't be surprised if we get some sprinkles.

We've had a little light rain off and on yesterday and again this morning. Probably just a couple tenths of an inch, though. I was really hoping for an inch or two, but even that small amount has perked up a few plants that were looking really peaked. It seems to be clearing up now, and it should be mostly sunny through Friday, with rain (hopefully) returning this weekend. This is very different from last July, when it rained almost every single day and was gray and cloudy all month. I like the sun better on the whole , but we really could use a bit more rain.

After getting just over 3" of rain in those last two storms, the weather was GORGEOUS here! Low 80s, with almost no humidity. This was about the time last year that it started getting very hot, but nothing really bad in the 10 day forecast except a couple 90+ days, and fairly cool nights. I won't complain!

We did finally get some nice rain late last week and Saturday - 3"-4" overall. I can practically hear the plants saying, "Thank you!"

We got two fronts through here tonight, with incredible lightning and thunder, but I don't think much rain (though I haven't gone out to check!). I think it went sort of N, but I'll find out for sure in the morning. I didn't turn my timers off, since it was drying out today, with the 93º heat.

Tuesday, I saw 91F and we had a thunderstorm before midnight. Got .65" of needed rain. Today, we were around 75F and it was much more comfortable being out. Tonight, we may get down to 48F!

Only a little less than 1/2" rain last night, in all that storming. Cleared up today, with little humidity, and 10° lower. Nice for working in!

Was awakened this morning by loud thunder. The windows rattled and the bed shook twice. We only got .15" of rain out of it. The temps got up around 80F, so that was good for the gardens. Fireflies in my yard tonight. Looks like we'll get some rain Sunday.

I think we are having another little heat wave. It never got below 80F last night (heat index 86) and right now heat index is 112F...it's 11am. Wow. June weather at the end of July. Much sweating and panting going on and the red wasps and fire ants are having a field day.

We got 1.61" of rain in the last three days. Great!
At noon, we're stuck at 65F and the skies are grey. Summer of '92...

About 2 1/2" rain last night, with that wicked storm. Cloudy, and just spitting today, and still in the 70s. This is when it was in the high 90s and 100s last year, so I won't complain!

Hot...we have pretty blue skies with just a few small, puffy white clouds, but the sun is brutal today. The calm air is what makes it rough. If we could get a little breeze the conditions wouldn't be that bad to work in, because the actual temperature and humidity are a bit lower than yesterday. But all morning we've had dead air. The best word I can use to describe how it feels outside is "stifling."
The official forecast is for a 0% chance of rain today through Friday (which is unusual for Florida in the summer), but I hope we'll at least get a few more clouds and a breeze on some of those days.

We only had a high of 76° today, and little humidity...until I went out to work in the garden! I had my AC off, but I had to turn it back on, and cool it off before I took my shower - otherwise, I was going to get wet again! LOL Still, I won't complain, for sure, and those tomatoes are ripening faster than I can pick them, probably helped out by those cool nights.

It was actually nice this morning. We had lower humidity, the morning low temperature was in the upper 60s, and there was even a breeze. It was like having a little preview of late September, and it sure made my morning walk a lot more enjoyable. Of course now the breeze has died and the sun is getting hot...ah, well. That's what air conditioning is for.

After having a cooler than normal July, the last couple of days in the low 80s just felt great. Being outdoors was much more enjoyable with some heat. Each of the days I managed to get out and walk 5km. Saw a firefly in the backyard tonight and the moon is bright.

Hot and dry here still. We had a brief but fairly intense shower on Tuesday, but that has been it for rain lately. The highs have been 94 yesterday and today, with heat indices of 105+. Lots of sun beating down, fairly high humidity, and not much of a breeze makes it hard to be outside for long in the heat of the day. The meteorologists keep predicting rain in the forecast, but somehow it rarely materializes. If showers do pop up in the area, this summer they almost always miss my place. Except for the grapevines and established trees (which seem to have roots to the shallow water table), everything that I don't water is suffering. DH is kind of happy that the dry weather means he has to mow less often, though.

Two more days of the same. 80-82F temperatures with a cool lake breeze. A real pleasure to be outside and I walked 5km each day. We should have a few more days like these, then a chance at rain. Come on, tomatoes. Ripen!

Not supposed to get out of the 70s today, but a possible 3" of rain. I went out and picked all the tomatoes that I could of those types prone to splitting, but it may not help much.
