I use them to put mothballs in and tie in different places. I just put a couple in and drill a few holes in the lid and turn them upside down so water doesn't get in.

They're also great for saving larger seeds (or MANY smaller seeds).

I also use them to store seeds. I take off the labels and tape new ones on, with the name of the seeds.

I use them to store seeds also. I thought I was the only one.

I went to Wal-Mart pharmacy and got them to sell me a hundred of the small ones for just a few $. I like the snap-on caps rather than the clunky child proof screw on lids. I think my kind are hard to find any more. Since going digital my old storage containers, 35mm film holders are a thing of the past for me. Every once in a while somebody has them on e-bay, but they want way too much for them

As I am a diabetic, I have to check my sugar every morning and the test strips come in those little bottles that look just like the film canisters, just white, so I have been saving those to store seeds in.

My cut flower side is showing again....they make great substitute water picks in arrangements, the bigger ones slide into vases, or turn any container into a vase. I also use them for buttons, straight pins, earring backs, and even meds...... a smaller amount of aspirin from the economy size to fit in my purse.

(along with my son's baby teeth-I don't know why!)

Catgrass-thanks for the tip on turning the lids over to screw them on regularly. I didn't know that.

My problem with turning the lids over is that I have a storage case with little drawers and that style is too small to fit the screw on style. Therefore I like the snap-on lids. Picky, picky, I know.

Stratcat-I didn't know either until I had a friend stay with me for a while after Hurricane Rita. I keep all my meds in a small basket, and one day looking for some of my pills-I saw the top of a bottle of pain pills upside down-and almost empty. She'd been taking my pain pills-she had a mmm-problem. Hid the pills after that-and learned about the lids!
