I had to do something the other day no one should ever have to do. My Dog started having seizures so I took him to the vet. They 1st wanted to put him in an emergency hosp. out of town. They wanted to run some test 1st. We let them run the test but said no to the hosp. We ran and got some stuff in town while they did the 464.00 wort of test. Came back and said they had a hard time getting blood but when they did.... He was full of cancer. we asked to see him and they said it's gunna be hard because he will act fine. And he did, but I wanted to hugg him one last time. Then he jumped down and started sniffing the floor smelling every dog thats ever been in there. Then they took him back. Dave and I cried like babies. We waited out back so they could give us his body. He is in the garage right now in his bed wrapped up in his favorite fuzzy blanket. surrounded by his toys. Dave will bury him this weekend. Saddest thing I ever had to do! It will be a long time before I get another dog.

Wendy I think you may be breaking the 'no excitement' rule. I never did have another dog after putting boomer down.

I am so sorry to hear that, Wendy. I know how much you can come to love a pet. They really become part of the family. Hugs to you!

Thanks everyone! He is very missed, I know it was the right decision. Hubbs and I just agreed to buy a piece of property to keep us busy and not worry about having another dog for a while. It will be hard! We have always had a Dog! Always! But maby when he retires we will get another one. Every time I walk out the door I want to stop look back and say "Harley are you coming? " And have him shoot out the door like a rocket. This coming weekend we are going up north. Harley loved it up there with the fire place. He wanted the bed rolled out so he could sleep right by the fireplace Im getting better. Thanks for all your thoughts. It's nice to have good friends for support.
