Well we have been talking peppers and tomatoes so how about punkins and winter squash? What is everyone going to grow this year? I know Red is going to say one of his will be Cushaw.
I have 3 French heirlooms and these.
Atlantic Giant
Winter Luxury
Howden
New England Pie
Dickenson ( Cheese Type)
Turner Family
Australian Butter
Kobacha
Black Futsu
Some pretty cool stuff. Can't wait to try the new to me ones and see how my old favorites do.Btw watch out for Satan's Vile Brethren aka Squash Vine Borers.

I'll be planting Long Pie and Old Fashioned Tennessee Vining Squash this year. Perhaps a few Mexican Calabaza if I have room after getting the rest of the garden planted.

Today I direct sowed "ornamental" pear shaped pumpkin/squash (we don't distinguish), which turned out good and yellow in 2009 (used in a soup), and I think I'll eat them. But Yellow Crookneck is also sold as ornamental. Pumpkins are sensitive to frost, but only after they emerge above ground, so I guess they may survive a couple of freak frosts, and the alternative is waiting (probably too long), as I'm not supposed to sow inside. Apart from these, I'll also sow Atlantic Giant and Connecticut Field from Red and Lalbers' Mexican green.

I'll be growing both winter squash and summer types (zucchini and pattisons) from here (in Poland), and I have seeds of Atlantic Giant and Connecticut Field from Red, Hokkaido (Red Kuri), Jumbo Banana and others from Ajla and Mexican Green from Lalbers. For now I've just started (direct sown) saved "ornamental" Pearshaped, and there is plenty of time for the others.

All I'm doing is yellow straightneck, grey zuke, reg zuke, white patty pan, and spaghetti squash, I could have cried last year I had the prettiest cushaw vines and the dang SVB got em, they got all I did last year, ( and I had some cool ones!) sucked! Trying Dipel BT dust this year. Hoping... If it doesn't work I'm going to replant with Trombocino
