I am used to potatoes wrinkling up and send out long shoots during storage, but have never seen them make little baby potatoes all over the surface instead. Is this common among some potato varieties? I don't remember if these were from the super market or from a trucker neighbor who gave us some of his load. Don't know the variety. I would like to save them for planting as a curiosity to see if they will produce full sized potatoes. The babies drop off easily. I'm afraid they will dry up in the 5 months before I can plant them, should I put them in a vented plastic bag in the refrigerator?
