Why go all through all the trouble and expense when there are hundreds of varieties already being grown every year by "real" tomato growers.

And it seemed that about the only thing they were concerned with is "brix factor", which is simply sugar. At least they know that there is more to tomato flavor.

At least they are finally trying to develop grocery store tomatoes that are edible. They'll never match homegrown, but it would be nice to have decent tomatoes in the winter.
