Last winter I was the queen of the back spasm. At times couldn't even stand and if I could stand the spasm would take me to the floor. I became quite the expert at sitting and stuffing my fat yap! HA! NO my resolution is not to lose weight or get into shape. I am a shape . . . blobish is a shape . . . hush you . . . >,< . . . My resolution is to get my stamina back!! I had a lot of struggles last year in the garden and that was quite vexing so not gonna happen this year. And yes I will keep my resolution because a blobish waddle isn't as effective in the garden as you might think!!

I joined a gym 6 months ago and I have lost 12 lbs but the best part is how much more fit I feel. My goal was feel less weak and achy in the shoulder area and I have pretty much achieved that goal.
I was worried about becoming a hunched over old woman some day and I think that I have really improved my posture which was also a big goal but I was not quite sure how to achieve it.
I guess that if I had an official New Year's resolution that it would be to keep going to the gym and doing my workouts. I am pretty sure that I will keep it because I feel so much better and feeling and looking better is a great motivator.

A few resolutions I could make: - Maintain fall weight (already lost this one, have gained 5 lbs since November) - Do a total closet cleaning and purge years of unworn clothing. - Purge all glass jars in all areas of the house that have no realistic chance of being ever re-purposed. (80% of them.) - pack away and rearrange mounds of stuff stored in the guest bedroom so that I can get at my sewing machine to finish multiple mending projects, as well get bedroom curtains made. Have had the fabric since November after our windows were replaced. All these things are doable, but I am a lazy person and would rather read a book or putter with fun things rather than have anything to do with housekeeping. A couple of these have remained on my list for many years! -

september, I have too many glass jars, too- what to do with them? Goodwill? I hope to be very conscious of what I waste, and re-use as much as I can. Also, not waste food.

A lot of my extra jars are just store bought pickle, jam, or spaghetti sauce jars. The pickle jars work well for refrigerator pickles, but you can only use so many at a time. We are supposed to recycle glass and some kinds of plastics at our county waste management disposal station so that's where the glass will go. I did a purge of plastic containers a while ago, but I see my cupboard is once again full of too many sour cream, yogurt, cottage cheese and Cool Whip containers!

Maintain last years weight lose and repeat it over the coming months. To do that, regular visits to the gym will be mandatory. Avoid potato and corn chips .

I am making no weight loss resolutions. My customers have showered me with delicious chocolates on top of the mountain of cookies and brownies I already have here. The family will help some, but I am determined to enjoy this year and not give in to the "It's a new year, must throw out the sugar." However, if I went to Starbucks a little less often, the calories may well balance out. So there's that. Maybe. Adding a job in 2017 (After being SAHM for 16 years) made me a lazy gardener this year. If I were to make one resolution for 2018 it would be that I would shake the lazy gardener funk and go at it like I really want to. I was gifted a glorious gardening book about French intensive gardening that will hopefully help me to be more purposeful. I let too many veggies go to waste because I was just too tired to get to them. OR I failed to properly fertilize and tend and lost produce that way as well. I can do better. I WILL do better!

I am going to try some new to me things his year, but also allow myself the grace of failing without criticizing myself too if I do fail.
Potatoes are on my list to try as a new to me thing to grow.

I've been thinking about this for a couple days. There are so many things I'd like to do, but the list is too long. So I've boiled it down to just one goal. 'Goal', not 'Resolution'. I plan to be more functional. That's it.. and it covers just about everything.

I resolve (or hope) to have more fun in the garden, listen to my neighbor when she's proud of all she grows, and start re-doing perennials. My neighbor calls herself a "FIT" or farmer-in-training. Her garden is quite overcrowded but she's so proud of her own fresh produce. And I am extra proud of her, too.

I've dealt with it for quite some time. These days, I don't lift anything heavier than my fork and I do all I can to keep from bending over too much. My wife even helps me put on my socks during the bad days. You get to a point where it's uncomfortable to sit, lay down or stand.
