Has anybody had any experience with these? www.rareseeds.com/lightning-mix-hot-pepper/I bought a pack to try out this year. I also bought a pack of Sheepnose Pimento seed, Craig's Grande Jalapeño, and Red Marconi. I've planted the last 2 before.

I have never grown those before, but I would not try them, due to the extremely crinkled appearance, much like another I grew - the Mustard Habanero. Those wrinkles would house insects, and they would lay eggs and pupate in them, and at least 50% rotted, in that final season. Great peppers, taste-wise, but I would cut them open, and even if they looked good on the outside, often the inside was rotting.
This had only happened one season years ago, when I grew that Peter pepper. The wrinkled end of this pepper would often rot, due to the pupae found in there.

Yes the Red Marconi produce until a long hard freeze comes through. I've picked them on Christmas Day before if the winter is warm. As to Lightning pepper, I plant at least one new variety every year. Some are winners and some aren't. You just never know.

The Lightning Habaneros won on both productivity and ease to dehydrate. Exactly what I am going to do with all that fiery hot pepper powder I just don’t know yet. Extra special ginger snaps comes to mind.
