Now I know that alot of gardeners hate having them around, but it saves me alot of time when I can just walk my property and harvest one instead of being one of those road side hunters racing up and down the roads looking for them.

It depends on the state DLD. Some (state fish & game) will look the other way when you take them for being in your garden. Other state F&G get more than a little pissy.
For my two cents worth WV would be kinder if it let the multitudes of deer who get run down, be taken for something besides auto repair makers.
It may in the end be self solving. Coy and wolf are back. Cougar will be along shortly. Something is going to eat the slow and weak.

Backstraps at DLD's place this weekend everyone! I'll bring the baked beans. Who wants to bring the potato salad?

a simple electric fence is pretty effective here to keep deer out of the garden, it didnt stop the bear from eating my blackberries though.
