I was gonna ask about your top "5" vegetables you put in your garden in the spring, but then I thought everyone puts tomatoes in, so what other 4 do you first plant?
1-tomatoes 2- 3- 4- 5-

Garlic is planted in the fall. But first in the garden is beans, peas, corn and carrots/beets/radish. But don't seeds almost always go in first?

I pre-start seedlings in house/greenhouse for the earliest to go in the garden:
Lettuce (and other greens) Broccoli Onions
Direct seed:
Peas Corn Beans - more sensitive to cold, so go in about the time tomatoes and pepper seedlings are set out.

I read the question wrong. I thought it was top 5, but it's whats planted first right?
First thing in ground is Onions, then Taders, then Maters and peppers.
no need to plant garlic, my moose knuckle grows wild here

Hmmm... after tomatoes, Broccoli would have to be on my list. Squash, probably zucchini but I'd do a yellow squash, too, if I could. Green beans would be on the list. Some kind of greens would have to get there, not sure what. If it were turnip greens, I'd get some turnips, too. After that, I'm sure I'd want some peas and onions and okra and sweet 'taters and numerous others. It's hard to cut the list down to just a few...

Tomatoes are top priority for sure! Followed by: Peppers, Kale (surprise!), Swiss Chard and Lettuce. I need the L to go with the T in my BLT's.

Lettuce and radishes. Chard, beets, and spinach. Onion plants. Potatoes. All brassica.
