Kale Tronchuda
This year is going to be outside my comfort zone.
I have no idea how to grow. Heck, until I ordered seeds tonight, I'd never heard of it.
I need all the info and help you can provide.

I planted this in 2016. It was good. Large smooth leaves but fewer seeds in a pack than Lacinato kale.

mgulfcoastguy, Can you "fry" it like cabbage? I guess smother it would be a better word. We take bacon grease in a skillet with chopped onions, cut our cabbage up, throw in the skillet, put a lid on it and let it cook over low heat. We just call it frying.

I strip the center stem out of center, stack the leaves, roll them into a cylinder, then cut them crosswise so that they unroll into ribbons. At that point I sauté a quarter of a diced sweet onion in olive oil though bacon grease might be good. Then I add the kale and stir until it is limp. I add a sweet vinegar like apple cider and a bit of water and salt and cover with a lid to steam. I like it still just a bit chewy. Some people add the raw shredded kale to a chicken and meatball soup. I also know a marinated kale slaw but it uses a lot of lemon juice. There are a lot of kale recipes.

Sounds like you can use it the same as other Kale.
We cook regular kale the way I mentioned above and we also use it mixed in salads. We like kale shakes like the one Dr. Berg makes on you tube.
I make a Kale, Sausage, and Potato soup similar to the one at Olive Garden.
I got a little carried away when ordering stuff this year.
I'm not sure why I've never tried to grow it. I was always busy with melons, Okra, peas, maters and beans.
