I grew this several years ago and wanted to post a picture in case someone wanted to grow it this year. I think Baker Creek carries it. Probably other seed companies do too. It's a nice little squash. We ate it fried like we do summer squash.

Are you familiar with Cocozelle summer squash? I ordered some seed for this variety for no other reason than that it's supposedly not your standard-issue zucchini. I wonder if they are all basically the same in taste, wateri-ness, etc., though.

That is basically a striped zucchini. I don’t get an appreciable difference in taste of the various types, just a difference in production and disease resistance.

horsea, Yes, I've eaten those and yes taste is similar to zucchini. They make good zoodles too. I also like them sliced thin, coated in seasoned flour and fried crisp like Tader Chips. Seasoned flour= Flour/salt/black pepper

Thankx for your replies, boys. I do not know what zoodles are. Zucchini + Noodles, maybe?
Now if you ask me, ANYTHING coated with seasoned flour and fried in fat tastes good! Whoever invented frying was a genius.
As to summer squash in general, I've grown quite a few non-zucchini varieties and found them maybe a bit more tasty and firm than zucchini.

horsea, yes, zoodles are zucchini cut into strips to resemble noodles, for use as a healthy substitute for pasta. You can make zoodles with a vegetable peeler or get a special gadget to make them. Usually zoodles are cooked very briefly so they don't get mushy.

horsea , Here ya go Buddy. We use these for spaghetti. We sauté in butter for just a few minutes, you just want to heat them up good, then cover in meatballs and sauce.
