We had a small ham and sauerkraut (nothing fancy) as we were wore out from all the traveling to the kids houses.

We were away for the weekend so yesterday hubby and I had a ham slice and the last pack of my garden asparagus from the freezer. I also cubed a red skinned potato and mixed it with my last pack of frozen, sliced garden carrots, coated them with olive oil and roasted them in the oven.
It was a very nice Easter meal for the two of us.

We had no visitors over the weekend but my wife baked an eye of round beef roast and the sandwiches were perfect. SIL and granddaughter will be visiting today for a couple of days so I need to go to the store and get milk, tomato soup and some hot dog buns for the bratwurst. She is eight and has certain things she eats and Grandma continues to spoil her. I think we will have homemade brownies, too.

My brother had a hankering for Cheeseburgers, so we fired up the grill. One of the farmers saw us and pulled up to chat. We found out everyone around us is growing cotton this year. It would be a perfect year to grow corn, but neither me or my brother have enough land plowed and ready. I don't care much for growing corn anyways.

we went to my mom and dad's yesterday. She made a ham with sweet potatoes, baked potatoes and broccoli, and then I brought along Hot Cross Buns and a raspberry-pretzel dessert. The Hot Cross Buns were terrible. They were SO dry. I don't know what happened with the recipe, it was from King Arthur Flour, and I usually have great luck with their recipes. These were so bad! They looked pretty, but ugh, it was like gnawing on drywall. Thankfully, the adults had plenty of wine on hand, so no one really cared. And my niece made some amazing strawberry lemonade cupcakes to go with, so we had extra desserts instead of rolls with dinner.

ladymarmalade, too bad you don't have chickens. They would have helped you out with getting rid of those hot cross buns!

We had the kids over for a vegetarian afternoon meal. We had sweet potatoes, broccoli/olive salad, mushroom Quorn, fresh asparagus with lots of herbs and butter, potato salad, garlic hummus. Way too much food!

The big get together was Saturday. Everything imaginable was available. The aunt who hosted did both a turkey and a whole pork loin on her XL big green egg. I made the jalapeño bacon appetizers that I posted. Probably 20 other dishes.
On Sunday I went out with my sisters and their families to Mugshots. I had Briscoe Inferno chicken sandwich and fed most of the fries to my grandnephew.
