What else do you think is better the next day other than on the day it was cooked?
Pizza... cause I just had a slice for my breakfast although I didn't care for the coffee that I chased it down with...

Chili. Always better the second day when flavours have blended.

Oh, yeah - I love leftover potato salad! Lots of other good suggestions have been made as well. I have to differ with daylilydude about leftover pizza, though. Pizza is decent leftover, but the crust texture is not as good, whether you eat it cold or reheated. I always reheat, though, because to me the best thing about pizza is the gooey melted cheese. But we can agree to disagree - right, DLD? Or am I banned for life now? Another good leftover food is lasagna. I don't make lasagna often, but when I do, it's a big one, so I enjoy the leftovers all week. It's also much easier to slice lasagna neatly after it has chilled in the fridge.

I second Lasagna. Chili as well. I will eat left over pizza, but to be honest, I like it fresh out the oven with the cheese so hot it burns your mouth!

Southern style red beans, any soup, stew, or gumbo.

All of the above. Except the pizza, sorry daylilydude,! I'm a crust girl, and I also don't like cold pizza, so when leftover pizza gets heated up, that fluffy, bready crust gets rock hard and unpleasant.

Most of the above and spaghetti, too. Loved fried spaghetti the next day or 2! Some flavors just get better with time to meld well and can change the tastes so much.

I agree with almost all of the above, and am another that thinks pizza is best immediately out of the oven, as the crust begins getting soggy as soon as it gets set on a plate or in a box (though I can't recall the last time that I bought a pizza...maybe they've improved them). Thin pizza doesn't reheat well, but thick crust can be undercooked and frozen, then reheated, to finish the cooking, and it is almost as good as fresh.

Everything everyone has mentioned I like the next day and most of the time it is somewhat better than the first day. Vegetable beef soup, what we southerners call stew and chili get better each day for up to about 5 days.

Soups, chili, just about anything is great the 2nd day. Daughter hates leftovers, so the hubby gets those!
