What and how do you handle the weeds at your place?

All the above, LOL. Round-up is used on the driveway cement where there are joints and weeds start in there. I often pull then in the garden or flower area, and they are my backyard "lawn", kept mowed down.

Weeds in the vegetable garden get pulled or hoed. Weeds in the flowers get pulled or hoed. Weeds in the lawn get mowed when the lawn gets mowed because without weeds the lawn would be nonexistent. Noxious weeds, like poison ivy, cats claw and other nasty ones if they are on the edges of the property get a Round-up treatment. Used to glyphosate the driveway weeds, but we had our drive asphalted last week, so that chore is done for now.
I try to employ Integrated Pest Management practices; chemicals as a last resort and then only as needed and follow directions. My main weed killer is a hoe with a string trimmer a close second followed by a mower.

Mostly just pull them.
There are a few exceptions- plants that I'm allergic to will get round-up because I can't take a chance on touching them.
But mostly, I pull them and/or dig them up, trying to keep the root system as intact as possible. Weeds are like Hydra. Remove the head and two-or-more will rise to take its place.

You didn't include one that I use a lot - weed wacking!
I have two sprays - both organic - that I use: one with clove and cinnamon oil, and the other 20% acetic acid, which I usually dilute to 10%, though some need even stronger.

depends on the weed as to what I am doing to get rid of it. I have resorted to roundup for mugwort, bindweed, thistles, dogbane?, around the fruit trees so I don't hit the bark with the weed eater... poison ivy.. things that I just can't pull and get rid of.

Propane weed burner wasn’t an option? In gardens it is usually just hoeing. Driveway is the weed burner. Weeds in the yard just get mowed. I did use weed killer to tr to get rid of Asiatic Jasmine followed my lawn mower and hedge trimmer.

When I was 10 we set an entire Five acre field of my grandfathers on fire. It had been covered with broom sedge and we started a garden there.

I consider "broom sage" (bluestem) to be a valuable ornamental! Beautiful colour in the summer,in the autumn... Plus.. Those delicate blooms! stonethegardener.tumblr.com/tagged/little-bluestemAt my house... No such thing as "weeds", they're all cool plants. Unfortunately, I can't keep them all.... So... I must practice some triage.... Give the most valuable (in each spot) a bit of growing space.... But, yeah... Gotta leave some for the bugs and the birds...

I am not opposed to weeds, and I do not consider their presence a personal offense. Mowing them down seems like the most effective way to coexist. I will never resort to chemicals like Round-up because poisoning the planet is not part of my to-do list.

We have poison ivy almost everywhere on our property. There is no way to get rid of it all, but when it pops up near areas of a lot of human foot traffic, it has to go. Round Up is the only thing that can get rid of it practically. Horrible itching and weeping rash on your legs all summer is the alternative. Since our last dog died, I have not had as much of a problem. I used to get 2nd hand exposure on my arms and legs from the dog running through poison ivy and then brushing up against my bare skin.
In my garden, I hand dig weeds, root and all. I actually enjoy doing it when there is no rush and I can work at a steady, meditative pace. I get alot of thinking and planning done that way, or I bring an old boom box out and listen to the radio if I want noise.

Hands and knees and a weed digger to get all the roots... But can only tolerate so long on the knees...then it becomes a 'sit and scoot' kind of job...! And like september, I enjoy weeding most of the time...It's a peaceful, fulfilling job...
