Do you grow them... what variety do you grow... and if you don't grow them let us know why?

don't grow as I have little use for them and they take up a LOT of room.

I love pumpkins for decorations and I also like all things flavored pumpkin (except coffee) but I don't grow any. I have enough room but I really can't grow them organically because of the Squash Vine Borer. With other squash I can grow a second crop to take over when the first one succumbs to the SVB infestation and dies but pumpkins have a long growing season and I can't do this with them.
If I can't grow it organically, then I just buy it elsewhere. I don't put poisons in my garden for any reason.
Actually I have occasionally used the organically approved products like Neem or Spinosad but that is few and far between and they do not work on the SVB.
I have tried pumpkins a few times but they always die before producing more than one or two pumpkins if I am lucky.

When my granddaughter visits in the spring, she always get to plant a few things she likes. One of her favorites is pumpkin for when she visits in the fall. So we pick up pumpkin seeds and plants them. Rarely do we ever get anything but she keeps an eye on the vines when she visits during the summer and fall. She is now nine and sometime she will grow out of needing a pumpkin. Until then it's pumpkin growing time.

A couple years ago, I had two volunteer pumpkin plants come up down the back of the yard where they had some room to sprawl... I ended up with 3 pumpkins... I also harvested a bunch of the male flowers for fritters...so that was good... But the time consuming job of checking all the leaves and stems nearly everyday for the squash vine borer was just way too much...And I found eggs every time...Same on the zucchini plants... No more squash types here anymore...

No, the vines take up too much space, and I don't really have a use for them. I grow squash and melons, which already sprawl out of the limited area I have for them and stray tips get regularly pruned by the lawn mower. If I had a grandkid that was into Halloween, I might grow a couple of plants.

None here, due to SVB, unless you count Seminole pumpkin. Even if I could, I wouldn't, as butternuts are my favorite winter squash. Pumpkins simply do not store well.

I hear Rod Sterling's voice: Welcome to the Vines . . .
Used to grow them for the grands but good lord and butter THE VINES! I have the room, don't really need them as there are pumpkin farms every where but OMG the vines.

I have. My biggest success was Johnathon Pumpkins, but they don't look like a regular orange pumpkin. I didn't care for them. I have seeds for Seminole, but I didn't plant them this year. Maybe next year I'll feel better. I'm out of P and Vinegar this year.

I only grow pie/small sugar pumpkins for Thanksgiving pies. The vines aren't too long and they vine under the peach tree (or elsewhere if I forget to check on them). This year I only planted 6 seeds so that means only a few pies.

I don't grow regular pumpkins, but I've grown hull-less seeds or pepitas. In the past I've grown kakai and it wasn't that productive (but good). But since I had the seed, I'm growing it again, plus a new variety to me.. something said to be more productive from Johnny's though at the moment I can't remember it's name. Unlike kakai, it's a hybrid however, so no seed saving.
I like carving 'ordinary' pumpkins however.
