Which do you think is better vine or bush?

I like bush type for squash but pole type dry beans are pretty nice. They produce a lot on just a few plants in a small space.

I like to watch the sprawl of vines, even though I have limited space in my yard. Maybe I was read "Jack and the Beanstalk" type of stories when I was growing up. Grow, grow, grow...

Bush beans I don't grow any more - too much leaning over. And other things, like squash, didn't produce a lot, and the only smaller (not really bush) butternut I tried simply did not store well. I can only grow County Fair cukes, and I wouldn't grow bush if I could - that's why I have the trellises!

I have bush beans and pole beans. Adore them both!

I grow both pole beans and bush beans, prefer the pole for space use and ease of picking. But there are interesting stringless choices in bush beans, like baby beans Nickel or Serengeti, and varieties of French filet beans of which I like to try a short row each.
Cucumbers - vining types only - more productive, and trellised up, they (in theory!) don't take that much space. Mine do get out of hand because I don't get them trained properly.
Squash - I would prefer bush because I don't need to store that many, but I keep choosing sprawling varieties. (?!)
Sure would love to find some good tasting bush melons!

Bush and pole beans, mostly pole. Cukes on a fence. Baby pumpkins that vine on the ground and can climb a tree.

Both but more vines than usual this year. Today I even found a spaghetti squash fruit 4 feet up in a cucumber cage.

I grow bush beans and short peas only - the down-canyon winds here can be devastating for pole beans and peas taller than a couple feet (the leaves get ripped off and vines mashed flat). Squash I prefer vine because I think they are more productive - the winds would have equal effect on lower bush or vine varieties.

Bush beans, vining cucumbers up a trellis, melons and pumpkins on the vine and tomatoes inside tall cages, blackberries on trellises.

Pole or vines for me. I try to grow beans, winter squash and cucumbers on a trellis. It sure makes picking easier on the back.

I grow vertically as much as possible for space reasons (and also it's easier on the back). So I grow pole beans, vining cucumbers, etc. But some vines are just too big for trellising, so I grow those in bush form - like squash.
