I don't know if it did the best but I was most pleased with Bok Choy. I had never grown this before and pepperhead212 sent me some seeds. I started the seeds indoors and then planted the seedlings in the garden. They did really well and I made some new recipes which was fun too. I will grow this again. Another thing that did really well was the Sherwood Romaine lettuce that bluelacedredhead sent to me. It produced really well, tasted great and was slow to bolt. I will grow this again too.

My Sherwood is just getting going now between the half a row that the Neighbourhood bunny ate and the extreme heat that slowed it way down. I might yet get to try some

Tomatillos surpassed my expectations. Too bad I don't like them.

Peppers of all varieties. Sweet potatoes did pretty good also.

Tomatillos surpassed my expectations. Too bad I don't like them. That's funny. Isn't that always what happens? Arugula did great for me and hubby and I both hated it. Yuk, I ripped it up and threw away the seeds.

Peppers! Due to the extra warm summer I had/have more sweet peppers then I can possibly use. I've been giving away bag fulls. All plants and varieties outdid themselves compared to other years. What's odd, is that the hot peppers were just average, and not all that hot. I would have expected lots of heat, because we had a very dry summer until just the last couple of weeks.

I had mold growing everywhere due to the humidity... in the garage, the basement the high tunnel on objects everywhere .. but no powdery mildew on the phlox.

Peppers and zucchini/summer squash. It definitely didn't take us long to reach the point where we did not want to eat another zucchini. That was about when the squash bugs started showing up, so I didn't feel bad about ripping out the plants.

Peppers did well, as allways, and I have more than usual, because I have not been at work, where I would give away my excesses. I texted several of them, that I knew liked them, but never heard from them. For new things, those bottle gourds were fantastic! However, next year I plan on planting one, then another, maybe 6 weeks later, as I got way too many all at once, from just 2 plants. Another variety I plan doing a succession planting with is a determinant tomato that was fantastic - Sunset Falls. Unfortunately, it is a hybrid, so I couldn't save seeds. I only grew one, and it was one of the first to ripen, and produced large numbers of 1" x 1 1/2" red tomatoes, with orange stripes, and an absolutely delicious flavor. I plan on planting at least 3, maybe 4, 3 weeks apart. I'll see how it works out. Glad you like the bok choy, brownrexx, and that it grew well for you. I've never been a fan of arugula, either.

I always lose mine to mildew near the end of summer. Do you spray with anything? Here is the secret: It is not really "my" garden. It is the raised bed cattle waterer my wife claimed as "her" garden for the year. No sprays, no chemicals, just plain water. The variety is Diva. Lots of rain at the right time. Those big old watering tubs worked well for both green beans and cukes.

Sweeter Yet burpless cucunbers! I will never plant more than 2 plants. The only way to stop them from taking over was to cut them off. Had 6 or 7 and ran out of frieds who needed them.
