I am not seeing a lot of great Fall color this year but now that it has been getting colder at night I am seeing a lot of yellow trees and the burning bushes have turned mostly red but no brilliantly red trees like in some years.
Some trees went right from green to dropping their leaves.

Went for a drive a couple of days ago, found some of the best fall colors, have seen in a long time. Have experienced a great "Indian summer " so maybe that has helped.

Not a lot of color around here just yet... I'm hoping my Japanese Red Maple turns red this year before losing its leaves... That has not happened for the past couple years, but we've also had unseasonably warm weather right before it has turned colder in recent years...I'm assuming that's the situation...The tree is healthy otherwise...

With more than eighty species of trees on our property it would be nice if there were more colors than brown, tan and yellowish. From the long view the colors are interesting in a muted sort of way. There are splashes of color up and down the Missouri River bottom, but it has never been vivd or spectacular like the Northeast.

We were away a few hours northeast of home back at the beginning of October, the trees were starting to turn. Lots of maples in the area and they are always a vibrant red. Here at home, the birch up the street is very yellow as is the oak across the road. We had strong winds and lots of rain yesterday and many of them are on the ground now.
I miss the vibrant colours in the country. We had a massive maple on our lawn on the farm.

it has never been vivd or spectacular like the Northeast. I just recently saw a TV show about the Fall colors in New England and I have always heard about that but never seen them. It seems that they have big forests of Maple trees and they must make the prettiest colors. One year I heard something about Aspens being beautiful but I forget where they are plentiful.

We vacationed to the Adirondacks several years ago and we were amazed at the color. Aspens used to be all over Colorado but I hear that a virus is killing lots of them. Adirondacks in the fall aspens near Aspen out my back door right now all beautiful, but I like boring home best.

Fall colors in New England are always gorgeous because of so many maple trees that have just about every color - green, yellow, orange, red. I grew up there and really miss those beautiful colors, mostly in the mountains. Aspens are very plentiful in Colorado, but only turn gold and yellow. When we moved here some friends suggested we 'see the autumn colors' of the beautiful aspens. I was disappointed as we only saw yellow! Lots of 'peepas' drive throughout New England just to see the beautiful colors - something I've missed but love Colorado.

We hit peak color two weeks ago and it's been going downhill ever since. There's a fresh blanket of leaves all over everything as it was windy and rainy all more morning.

Still very little color here, even in the maples, which are some of the earliest and most colorful.

Ah, we went straight from lush green to completely defoliated in one day. I'll have to live vicariously through pictures this year.
Not that fall color was fantastic around here before since the trees were predominantly pines. But there were a few - red maples, ornamental pears, popcorn trees, and some of the oaks - that made nice little patches of color.

I was driving to a store today and saw the most beautiful maple trees that I have seen this season. I pulled over and took a pic to share. 20181030_121113 by Brownrexx, on Flickr and here is one that is starting to turn red so it is yellow and red. 20181030_121310 by Brownrexx, on Flickr

I drove to a store today, that I rarely go to, and noticed that a lot of maples in that area are starting to change, though still, none are fully changed.

Just the past couple days have i noticed change. last year we had none at all. it was the dreariest looking Fall ever. Sunday we had wide spread and I do mean wide spread hail. from one end of the county to the other and beyond. I have never seen so much hail in all my life combining storms. It ruined my last apple tree that isn't picked and shredded many leaves right off the trees . it doesn't look like so many leaves are down as they were all still green on Sunday when this happened. the yard is covered in green confetti now.

Today, 4 days after there was little color on my street, one of the maples totally changed to orange! And it's been warm here, and is still warm, up in the 70s.

Things are becoming more colorful now around here though there are still lots of very green trees hanging in there... The large burning bush in the front yard is at peak right now...It's so pretty when the sun shines on it... It'll likely be toast though after the heavy rain expected later today...

nope. nothing here. we had hail for about 2 minutes two weeks ago that beat the green leave right off the trees and anything that did turn color was whipped off by the rain and wind this week... the trees are practically bare here and its too wet to pick up leaves with the mower. we had about 5 inches of rain in the past week.

Instead of fall color, I have more and more spring green here. Spring allergies, too, because apparently some of the surviving trees are blooming as well as leafing out.
Frost - which will probably come later this month - will be a rude shock for all those trees with fresh new growth.
