How you guys feel about a collaboration? Y'all remember the little seed that could? Remember how tiny it started out and then grew to over 6' tall? I was thinking we could all grow it this season. It needs to be saved by more people. As far as I know, no one else is growing it. It was given to me 13 years ago and no information was provided except it's name. I have research it over the years to my wits end and found nothing. I even forgot who I got it from.
If we all grew it, it would give us something else to talk about. Plus get it into more hands so it doesn't go the way of the passenger pigeon.

We don't generally eat plum tomatoes. Do you have a picture of the fruit?

brownrexx , Yes, I move it from my thread to here. Give me a few minutes. checking to see if it worked. I wasn't sure exactly how to do this. Frosty Pink Plum! I can't tell you how excited I am about this tomato. It's been quite the adventure. I'm convinced the initial slow growth was due to my seeds being 12 years old. Once the plants were set in the ground they rebounded and grew fine. Especially the one in the raised bed. Here it is side by side with Rebel Alliance.

september, daylilydude, pondgardener, bestofour, Forgive me for being slow, but I have them packaged up and will put in the mail tomorrow. Time just seems to fly these days. I've have this in my mind that I needed to get it done, but life slows me down. Good luck everyone . I will be watching you on the sidelines this year. I just don't think I'm going to be able to garden. Mom and I will probably just set up her Aero Garden.

Do you still need mine? I thought you had it from a previous PM, but just now I don't see it. Should I PM again?

I just don't think I'm going to be able to garden. You should at least plan on planting some greens in that new raised bed or having your wife plant them for you. They are not hard to manage and you loved those!

I hope that you or your wife can at least plant some greens, like brownrexx suggested.

I am so tempted! With a backlog of over 500 varieties and space for only about 25, it would probably just join more in the "Christmas box". (That's what a friend calls it when she looks through it for someting new to grow.) I have already notified SSE that the present listing will probably be the last. Thus I would not be able to inroduce it to all of those members. As it is, sounds like there will be enough here to assure that it gets out into the tomato world.

hairymooseknuckles, the seeds came this afternoon... thank you so much... I think this is going to be fun to see all the different ways growers are growing them and what they get as far as production and taste... I'm going to grow mine in the self-watering buckets.

daylilydude, Awesome Buddy! I was hoping the way I packaged them wouldn't be a problem so I gambled since I knew I had plenty of seed. I think you can get by with tomato seed, but other seed types I doubt would work. The Mail Lady said it would be fine she thought. I have to take her some seeds because she wants to grow it too!
