If you could only live in 1 season which would it be... winter, spring, summer or fall and why?

You're asking this of Gardeners? Ha, ha. I like spring and Fall and even a little bit of winter but if I could only pick one it would have to be summer.

They all have their good points but probably fall after hurricane season is over.

I was always a summer person, but as I age Fall is getting to be my favorite. The heat and humidity is lessening and there are still plenty of days that are warm. I like it after the first frost so the bugs are gone.

Spring on the edge of summer. But I am seriously a 4 season person. Lived in Alaska with lots of winter, lived in Arizona with to much summer (HORRIBLE temperature change) but I will stick here in Ohio. Love my 4 seasons!! Our weather is rather poopy right now BUT IT IS WINTER! It is supposed to be cold and snowy. Just how I like it

I dunno why, but the first thing that popped into my mind was Summer, but honestly they all have their pluses and minuses. I'd like to see more fall weather.

Spring! Fall has hurricanes, summer is too hot, and I can't grow tomatoes and peppers in the winter. Fall would be great, too, if I could be sure there were no hurricanes. There is that all too brief sweet period in both spring and fall where we get upper 70s days/50s nights, not too much humidity, and lots of sun. In that weather, almost every veggie grows quite happily. I'd love more of that, please.

Early summer is my favorite, but I think summer all year round would be kind of like having only all sunny days with never a cloud in the sky and no rain. I 'm used to variety and get antsy and irritable when there is too much of any one thing for too long, even sun.

it never rains here in the summer, so that would be an issue. but I very much like summer. I am so tired of being cold. last year I feared winter showing up at every point of summer. if I could move around to get the weather I like, I would stay in summer most of the time. only deviating to stay for a fall harvest or spring planting.

Summer would be my favorite, only because of all of the veggies I am harvesting - I hate heat! Spring would be my favorite, thinking about weather, and I also get a lot of veggies then, but I am so busy then, I can hardly enjoy the weather!

I'm lucky to have 4 true seasons in this spot here...
From a weather standpoint, they're all good, but perhaps Fall as the best, as it contains a little bit of them all... Sometimes Springlike days, sometimes hot and humid as in Summer... And every now and then, Fall gives you a little taste of the Winter to come... And then there are those nice crisp days out there...I like Fall...

Would have to guess that late spring early summer would be my favorite. The heat of mid summer is not a great time for me. Lucky tho, no humidity in this part of the state. Do like winter with the snow on the ground, but by this time of the year am ready for spring and getting back in the garden. Fall can be nice, usually have an Indian summer then. Nice days but cooler nights.

I like what is commonly referred to as "Indian Summer" somewhere from late September through mid November. No need for air conditioning or heating. Harvest is just ending and is a good time to reflect on what has transpired since Spring. Like many others have mentioned, I like being in an area that has 4 seasons, never having one season lasting too long. And fortunately, other than hail, we don't have tornado's or hurricanes.

Having lived in a 4-season area all my life and visited others, I'll take all 4 for one reason or another. I once spent a couple weeks in Durban, South Africa. They have just one season all year. Thought that I would have lov3ed the chance at gardening year around. Our hosts were Ditch and they said that I wo9uld not like it. In fact, they often vacationed in the Netherlands in the wintertime just to appreciate the chance at something different I used to enjoy winter but thoe days are behind me. Give me the other 3 and make each a month longer and I'd be happy.
Martin.
The truth is more important than the facts.

Spring, About mid May, all the time. I like April best too, but it can still get a little chilly and frost once in awhile in April. I like it best when everything is growing fast, fresh and beautiful, lows in the 50's and highs in the 70's and low 80's at most, F that is.
