I was born and raised in NOLA, so I can say Y'all without sounding like a freak. But after Katrina, we ended up in Massachusetts. The winters I can handle for the most part, this past winter made me want to cry though. :/ Damn it was rough. Now, I'm trying my hand at gardening up here, and I'll tell you...I've killed about 90% of everything I've touched. I'm trying cuttings now with rooting hormone, see if they take....god I hope so.

At the peril of sounding like I'm telling you what to do; if you modify your personal data with a general location or zone you may get better answers to gardening problems.

I wouldn't feel too bad about the winters, I was born here and I can't stand them. Where are you in MA? Most anything you would want to grow CAN be grown here, it's just a little more difficult, and you can't leave it outside all the time. Welcome to NJT, I'm sure y'all will enjoy it. ;D A Real Swamp Yankee, Tom
