Let's just say like half your tray has sprouted, do you leave the dome/plastic cover on or take it off... your thoughts?

I keep it on but vent it. prop a corner up or if its a tall one slide open the vent. sometimes I put a piece of plastic over the tray in just the spot if its one end.

Funny you should ask that. I was just checking on my tomato's before I came to the Forum and 4 pots out of 18 now have sprouted plants. I removed those pots and put them under the lights uncovered. The rest of the pots with no sprouts stayed under the dome and on the heat mat. I like planting my seeds in individual pots, rather than trays or large pots with lots of plants so it's easy to do this. I don't like to leave sprouted plants under the dome because first of all they touch the dome within one day but mainly I don't want them to be too moist and rot or become subject to damping off.

I leave it on until the majority have sprouted. No problems with dampening off.

Like watching a pot to boil . . . Now in my defense I did just start pepper seeds a couple days ago BUT COME ON SPROUT.
I will have the sprouted seeds uncovered. I will just move them out from under.

Vent it with a lifted or offset corner or two.
Or remove the sprouted cells to another open tray.
Or if only a few are not sprouted, uncover the tray and put saran wrap over those left.
Then sometimes there is a game of musical chairs, where the slow individual cells are popped out with a baby spoon and recombined with other slow cells in a four pack. Of course this involves making more labels. If I grew fewer plants I wouldn't bother, but until I can leave my plants out in the greenhouse overnight, space is at a premium indoors, and every inch counts!

Hmmm...I didn't see an option for "I don't use a dome."

I use a tray with no dome plus a heat mat.
