Just fess up and tell us how many times a day do you go look at the seeds you planted to see if there is any sprouted?

Now that they are upstairs, not often - only if I go up for something else. When they were in the kitchen, however, I couldn't begin to tell you how many times I'd look at them!

I just keep an eye on them to make sure they haven't dried out since they are on heating mats and I grow seeds into plants for other people. I have an order this year for 100 flats for an orchard/farm market not far from me. now thats a bit stressful as someone else is expectant on the seeds they brought me to be beautiful plants when they come to pick them up so they can grow them for a cash crop.

Maybe two or three times, or whenever I happen to pass by them. Watching the seeds sprout is perhaps the most fun and joyful part of gardening.

Watching the seeds sprout is perhaps the most fun and joyful part of gardening. I agree, it's my favorite part of gardening too whether it is in pots or in the garden. I check as soon as I get up and probably 2 more times during the day. My tomato seeds seem to mostly germinate at night so they are there to greet me in the morning.

2 or 3 times a day until they are transplanted. The peppers are all relegated to the basement now that they're in bigger containers. I check on them once a day. Tomatoes just started to get their true leaves so they will stay “babies” for another week or two.

Once a day to keep track.

Several times a day! At least I don't get up in the middle of the night to check on them. Now that would be obsessive.

I start them in the greenhouse, check on them for moisture once a day minimum and so I see when they start to emerge, It's a really interesting thing to put that "dead" looking seed in the damp dirt and see it spring to life.

I actually do check them in the middle of the night, but I'm getting up to go to work for a few hours, so I suppose that doesn't quite eke into obsessive territory. Might be close though. To answer the original question, at least twice, but usually more like 4, especially when it's that period of time where there are new sprouts every time you look.

I also love to watch them bloom and then set fruit. Oh then there's watching to ripen.

Since they are in the kitchen...many, many times a day. Plus I like to chitchat with them so they know they are loved before they sprout.
