It was on the news this morning that some companies like Dunkin Donuts, are already starting to sell pumpkin flavored latte's.
It's way too early for me to think about that but when Fall is in the air do you enjoy those pumpkin flavored products like coffee, ice cream, cake, pancakes, etc, etc ?

...when Fall is in the air do you enjoy those pumpkin flavored products like coffee, ice cream, cake, pancakes, etc, etc ? Not only when fall is in the air, but always. Just dont have them very often cuz I'd have to make them myself. I love pumpkin flavored ice cream and muffins especially. Cake of course too, with thick cream cheese frosting, but...

Cake of course too, with thick cream cheese frosting, Oh yeah, me too. They also make something around here called a pumpkin roll which is a pumpkin cake rolled up like a jelly roll with cream cheese frosting inside. Yum. I also love pumpkin bread and sometimes our restaurants will put a couple of small pieces of that in the bread basket. Last year I tried pumpkin ice cream and didn't like it. Yuk, it tasted like vanilla ice cream with pumpkin pie spices and no pumpkin flavor at all. Pumpkin pie is my favorite pie but I don't like pumpkin flavored drinks at all.

No to pumpkin drinks, but yes to the breads, muffins and pie! Never tried the ice cream, but I don't think I am tempted.

Have you heard about pumpkin spice Spam?

Don't drink coffee no matter the flavor. Pie, muffins, bars would be OK any time. Pumpkin ice cream does not sound good, but then I am a vanilla person. Saw the story on pumpkin spice Spam. As a kid we had fried spam sandwiches on a regular basis. Flavored spam I could do without.

My Aunt used to make fried spam sandwiches. My Uncle used to throw the sandwich on the dash of his pickup so it would be nice and hot by lunch time. OH HEEL NOOOOOOO! I told him one time, that's not a good idea, but he just shrugged me off.

The mere thought of that is giving me the vapors... I love theses sorts of things, and can even make very good sugar-free, low carb versions. But I don't. I do have eating issues, and just can't have them in the house. One batch of pumpkin muffins with nuts and cream cheese frosting wouldn't hurt... would it?

A while back, before it got too hot to bake, I made a butternut bread, which was basically a pumpkin bread. I love those spices, in pumpkin deserts, and things like gingersnaps, and similar cookies.

I've often wondered about anything that is "pumpkin flavor". A pumpkin is just an orange squash and nobody thinks of eating something that is "squash flavor". It's not the pumpkin that one is tasting but the pie spices. Quite probably not an ounce of pumpkin in a ton.

I do have eating issues, and just can't have them in the house. Gianna, that is why I don't bake that stuff. I have the same problem. I allow myself ONE pumpkin whoopie pie per year. If you don't know what a whoopie pie is, it is like a sandwich of pumpkin cake with cream cheese frosting in between. Original whoopie pies are chocolate but I prefer the pumpkin ones. They also sell pumpkin roll by the slice and I allow myself ONE slice of that too.

The other keto desserts sounds safe enough, but they are not. I made some in the beginning, and they were good, but even the sugar free ones are totally magnetic.

My mug cakes are healthy. I eat them several times weekly. It's mostly coconut flour, egg, apple sauce or banana, walnuts. No white sugar at all. Cream cheese as frosting. I keep the calories under 300. They don't spike my blood glucose, so I figure I can have my dessert and eat it too. Besides, I had to find a way to incorporate dessert or my wife would have a hissy fit.

hairymooseknuckles , I've made the original recipe microwave mugs cakes when I am desperate for a chocolate fix with no sweets in the house. I thought they tasted too "eggy" so I replaced the egg by using the add only water pancake mix instead of regular flour. Of course that won't work for your keto diet. I'll be interested to to see what you come up with for pumpkin!

I really like pumpkin spice flavored things. The smell is one of those things that ushers in fall in my mind. We have a local coffee chain that makes a Frozen Pumpkin Chai. It is delicious!

Oh Gianna , you would definitely like whoopie pies. I had to run to the store just now to get a lemon for my chutney. You have no idea how bad lemons are here. The ones I bought last night had so little juice that they were worthless and not only that they were $1.50 each! Anyway the store had mini whoopie pies so I took a pic for you. These are chocolate with peanut butter filling and they are about 1/4 the size of a regular whoopie pie. Can you imagine having a pack of these things in the house and trying not to eat them all? I can't do it. 20190821_143855 by Brownrexx, on Flickr

The ones I bought last night had so little juice that they were worthless and not only that they were $1.50 each! Wow. Lemons arent that expensive here - they are one of our top 2 ag crops, along with avocados. If I look out the window, I can see a commercial lemon orchard. I planted a lemon tree in the front near the street. People are always stealing them. ' Taking just one won't hurt'.... Yes, it does. Lots of walkers on this hill. These are chocolate with peanut butter filling and they are about 1/4 the size of a regular whoopie pie. Ouch! I just hurt my fingers trying to grab one through the monitor! Yes, I would like those. Large and soft looking. As much as people make fun of them, I loved twinkies too. I have chocolate bars in the earthquake emergency supplies. They are safe. Those wouldnt be. Thanks for the photo.
