Cute pic, but I call shenanigans on this one. It's hard enough training little kids to be attentive enough to their bodies to allow enough time to get to the toilet in time! Maybe I am wrong, but I don't think dogs have that kind of self-awareness. More to the point, you have a very sick puppy if it barfs often enough to have many opportunities for training! In my experience, dogs just puke wherever they happen to be, and most the time they try to eat it afterwards. Cats, of course, have a special instinct to look for the new rug, bedspread, couch, or as a last resort the hamper of freshly washed clothes to barf on. When they are done, they look at you as if to say, "Well, aren't you going to clean that up? It's not going to clean itself!"

Cats, of course, have a special instinct to look for the new rug, They really do and sometimes I feel like they are thinking "whew, I almost barfed on the tile floor but luckily I made it to the rug!" I bought a small portable carpet cleaner for this reason and it works great.

I think it's just more entertaining for the cat to watch the human scrub a rug furiously than quickly and calmly wipe up a hard floor.

I suspect cats also know the values of things at times, or feel the need to "do a christening" a new rug or upholstered item.

Oh, yes! The newer and more valuable the upholstery, clothing or rug, the more enticing it is for cats to barf on. They have a special sense for that, I think.

In my experience that is wrong, not that I have been dead as yet, LOL!! My cats would get in the hollow of your waist, between the bottom of your ribs and hips, so they can exert their magical powers of tremendously increased gravitational pressures.
I have a quite small cat, about the size of a half grown one, and I swear she can increase her weight from about 5 pounds or less to 25 plus pounds when laying on a softer area of a human.

Maybe they move to the highest point when you are dead?. All the better to spot their next sucker/servant!
