Have you or will you get tested to see if you have Covid-19 antibodies? Hubby and I go for our test shortly. No idea when to expect results etc but guess we will find out during the test?
I have to add that I am so nervous! IF I have the antibodies maybe hubby will loose the shackles a bit!!

I don't expect to have antibodies since I have not been sick at all in a very long time.
I am having eye surgery a the end of the month and have to have a Covid test 2 days before.

Neither Covid-19 nor MRSA as of a couple weeks ago. Those tests done in hospital.

Well that was extremely unpleasant! The poor nurse had to stick me twice and OUCH! Totally NOT her fault. My vein rolled on her the first time but the second arm was no problem. I felt so sorry for the nurse, she felt so bad, but she had just done my husband and he didn't even feel it. OMG Boo hoo! Rub some dirt on it and walk it off gosh! Now we wait. Should have results on Monday.

Why get tested for anti-bodies if you have never had the disease? I am anticipating not getting covid so I know I will not have anti-bodies. So all you who get sick and then well donate samples so I can get the vaccine next year.

Why get tested for anti-bodies if you have never had the disease? Because of how deathly ill I was and the symptoms I had, it was suggested that I be tested. I was never tested to see if what I had was covid. Guess they want to see if that is what I had? So there ya go.

I now recall you were pretty sick back in February! Back before most people realized how bad covid could be and in retrospect, that it was probably already here. Do let us know the results. Hey, maybe we should give a booby prize for the first board person here to get the virus?

Sorry my meaning got as fuddled as my brain. Suppose there are anti-bodies for brain freeze? I didn't remember you were ill. I need to pay more attention to my friends. Glad you are better.

I had also forgotten that you had been sick. I hope that it was Covid so that you are done with it now!

I was tested because of the January hospital stay. At the time, it was not determined what type of pneumonia I may have had. Since that was about when the virus began showing up, there was a chance that I may have had it. Tyrned up negative so I am not immune.

paulf, I knew what you meant! I was only explaining that if I had not been so deathly ill, I would not have gotten tested either. brownrexx, I sure hope that is what I had cause whatever it was, I never ever want it again!

I remember you being sick. Hopefully that's what you had, so you'll be done with it.
I have thought about getting an antibody test just to know, but I haven't had that many chances for exposure and I haven't been sick, so it would almost certainly be negative.

spike I was thinking that if you did have covid-19 and it is as contagious as they say, that your DH would have gotten it as well. It will be interesting to see your test results.

I am also very interested as he came and took the test also! When I got sick I made a nest in a corner in the living room and stayed there. Didn't want to go anywhere near him to get him sick. BUT we also live in a really small house. Waiting till Monday for results is going to drive me nuts.

Yeah, I get bad bruises when I have blood work done, too. They look painful, but generally they aren't tender, except right where the needle went in.

Not sure if there is anyplace around here to do the antibody test. It would be interesting to see if I have them. I was sick for 5 months. I had the worst sinus infection that never went away and conjunctivitis, burst eardrums, lungs that sounded like dying bellows when I was in bed (for months)..to the point it kept both Kevin and I awake. I woke up coughing I went to bed coughing I stayed up coughing... day upon miserable day. since the symptoms were so helter-skelter symptoms I went for months thinking this was not covid. I wasn't feeling like I was going to die... just sick for month upon month. went to the doctors office the week they literally shut the doors just because I wanted him to look at my eardrum... the last time I needed to have him look at my eardrum took me 30 min. to make the appointment for a 5 minute looksee. I had to be buzzed in had to wear a mask, wasn't allowed to touch anything, went out a different door... way after the fact of being really sick and recovered.. I even apologized to the doctor------- now.... I am wondering if I had it and I was at his house, I went walking with his wife a couple times, had them at our house on a Sunday to listen to our church service ... last thing I ever intended was to possible spread it to anyone. but, evidently, I wasn't still contagious when I finally decided I had had enough of this crud. now we are hearing it has been here far longer than suspected.

That's too bad spike, it sure would have been nice to have some immunity to Covid-19. However it may also have had some lasting effects so maybe it's good that you didn't have it after all. There are some other nasty viruses out there and you must have had one of them.

Sorry to hear that, spike. It would have been nice to have immunity and an explanation for that horrible crud you had in February.

I was guessing that you didn't have Covid-19 when you said that your DH didn't get it too. Covid is said to be very contagious and I would have expected him to get it too since you said that you live in a very small house.
Oh well, hopefully you and he will never get Covid!
