Our local hardware store has a huge pre-season buy (while supplies last) on Wood Pellets.
I guess I have been living under a rock or something? What exactly do you do with Wood Pellets?

they are burnt in a special type of stove for heat. It is called a Pellet Stove and you dump a bag of pellets into a reservoir and it automatically feeds into the burning chamber as needed. Our son has one of these in his basement and he really likes the supplemental heat. He feel that it is cheaper than using his propane.

@imp, brownrexx, Thanks ladies! Not sure how I missed hearing about those all these years. We are currently all electric which is much cheaper than the fuel oil we had years ago.

Pellet stoves are very popular in my area. Tractor Supply always has pallets of those bags of pellets in the store.

I would love a wood burner but our house is only 750 sq ft with no basement and not attic to speak of either. So I have no where in this little house where one would fit

There is also a type of smoker that uses pellets though you would want to be more particular about what type of pellets. The most common brand is called Traeger.
