You'll go during the Super Bowl, during the Oscars, at 2 in the morning. You will take 15 minutes finding the mysterious special spot.

My sister had a designated corner of her large fenced in back yard where they encouraged their St.Bernard dogs to go for poo trips to make the yard clean up easier. They were moderately successful, though once the snow was deep the dogs didn't want to go all the way out. When the last dog died, they decided to put sand down in the poo corner, with an low edging like a huge sandbox in the hopes that the new puppy would learn to differentiate the area from the rest of the grass.
Well, he decided that the sand was only good for having a good messy gritty roll in! I'm sure they will keep working on it.
Not sure how much longer Macduff can be a lap dog!

And I thought an 83 pound Boxer was a bed hog.

Sister told me yesterday that MacDuff was at the vet's and now weighs 71 lbs -- at 5 months old. I like big dogs too, but would not get one myself, too hard to care for when they get old and infirm. I had to carry my lab mix down the stairs when she got too arthritic, that was tough enough! Also, their life spans are not that long. I would be sad to lose a dog every 7-8 years. Their first Bernie was a female, and she was the only one that lived well past 10 years. Since then they have had a succession of males and a few didn't make it to 5. Epilepsy and such. For some reason, her husband thinks they should only have St. Bernards, although in the early days they had other dogs, up to four or five at a time. My sister used to work in a Veterinary School, and she sometimes ended up taking dogs that were not reclaimed after treatment by their owners for some reason.
