Looks like the bottom leaves are dying so it's a good sign that it's about the end. Mine are ahead of schedule due to drought conditions. Plant size is down so bulbs will also be smaller. Favorite gardener's line always next year.

elkhound, You must not make use of your scapies? Around here they are a popular item at the farmer’s market.

My scapes have just uncured in the past couple days. I leave them on and offer both bulbs and bulbils later. I'm thinking that it is as much as 10 days early this year. May be out of the ground by the 4th of July rather than about the 15th.

Better a week early than a few days late. Martin's does have good skin but a wet spell could quickly change that. Now what are you going to do with all that super garlic?

garlic spaghetti soon will be on my plate...noodles smothered in garlic and good olive oil !
last year i grew to much and this year was far less. i think growing the two patches is best with each having 130-150ish in them for about 300 total is best fir me.my family would revolt if i stopped growing this stuff too...lol.

Ha! Should have recognized the bottle onion row! They grow every way except straight up. When we had a couple inches of rain a few days ago, also had strong winds. For some reason only the red shallots and bottle onions were affected. Both making bulbs anyway.
