spike I hope this makes you laugh a little. I know you’re probably not in the mood to laugh, but maybe it will make you grin at least. The pickle thread, made me think of this and I felt like telling y’all a little story. It’s kind of funny in a way. My kid Sister darn near fell out laughing when my Big Sister told her the story. I don’t remember what grade I was in exactly, but probably 7th /8th grade maybe. Once a year there is a big fair and rodeo and all the kids in school got to go and take something they made to be entered in a contest. School districts from all over the area participated. The important part to remember is that you had to “make” something in order to go, otherwise you had to stay at school. Ummmm that wasn’t an option for Knucks. Knucks would participate in a poo kicking contest if it meant getting a day out of school. I even once volunteered to go castrate pigs to get a morning off from classes. ok ok back to story. Most kids painted/colored a picture, made a cake, some canned pickles, etc.; anyways you get the idea. So Knucks forgot all about it cause he was having a blast on the weekend. I get to school and Ol’ blonde Betty what’s her face asked where my project was. I exclaimed “sheet, I left it at home!” I didn’t dare tell the school crier what I had up my sleeve! I thought quick and ran to the only place in town to get anything (a gas station!) They always had a few items to sell. I grabbed a package of cinnamon rolls and ran home. Found some Saran Wrap and a paper plate and back to school I went. I managed to get those rolls on the plate, wrap them up and put a sticker with my info on it. Off we went to the fair! I didn’t give a hoot about ribbons or placing in the event, but it just so happed I won a first place ribbon! I know, I know, shame on you Knucks! P.S. you know it has to be true cause you just can’t make up Shi stuff like that.
