From the inventory remaining (400 varieties) this is the first iteration of tomatoes. The number is what will be started in March but the varieties most likely will change a little if something strikes my fancy (be careful when striking your fancy..it hurts a lot):
Black Cherry Cherokee Purple Indische Fleisch Black Roger's Best Black Indian Dark Violet Aker's West Virginia Black Orange Oxheart Zore's Big Red Sylvan Guame Granny's Heart Belarusian Heart Sheryl's Portuguese Egyptian Butter and Bull's Heart Tsar Kolokol Hays Vjerino Joe's Pink Oxheart Konus Lennie and Gracie's Kentucky Heirloom Japanese Oxheart Yasha Yugoslavian Sgt. Peppers Canadian Heart Amish Salad maybe not since I got Yukon...from September.

From the January start to today everthing goes out to begin the hardening off sequence these are the changes:
no germination or dying off: Cherokee Purple Zore's Big Red Sylvan Guame Granny's Heart Butter and Bull's Heart Joe's Pink Oxheart Konus Lennie and Gracies Kentucky Heirloom Sgt Pepper's Amish Salad Yukon..never was because I misnamed Karma.
Replaced the above with:
Indian Dark Violet Cherokee Chocolate Cherokee Black Aker's West Virginia Black KBX Hearty Russian Araad's Pink Heart Cherokee Purple Heart Mrs Schlaubaugh's Famous Strawberry Heshpole Karma Cherry/Saladette
Never before has there been so many no goes; ten in all no germinations. I will use a better brand of potting mix in the future. But then the replacements seemed to do OK and caught up. I was a little worried since I began about ten days later than normal and the re-plants were two weeks later than normal. All the new varieties soon caught up and actually all the plants are getting pretty large . It does not help that the weather is very cool and windy for May 1. Normal plant out date here is May 5. We will not be in the garden until at least May 10 this year. March weather in May, so I suppose we will skip April and May and go directly to July.
