Well this morning I locked both dogs outside for half an hour just as soon as I uncaged the Brat. Hopefully they took care of business in that time frame. I also found a hole gnawed in the back edge of a sofa cushion. Fortunately it was over 30 years old.

While walking the pup Saturday he pretended to poop so that he could go back in out of the heat. Dog Days indeed.

Err...yeah. He's going to end up well north of 50lbs, I think. But he's a cutie!

Waldo , the boxer in the above photos, has an ulcer on his left eye that doesn't seem to be responding to various vet prescribed drugs. The vet is advising a $750 surgery that might help save the eye but if it doesn't work we will still have to operate again and remove the eye. Still a bit to young and otherwise in good health to be put down but I already got hit with the fees for a tooth extraction and implant for my self this month. I will probably give in for the surgery this coming week but nothing else can go wrong this month.
Btw Nemo is 54 pounds now. He has developed into a watchdog, not as open to strangers as Waldo or Trudy before, and with a bark so loud that my iWatch told me. that I was in a loud environment.

Sorry Waldo has to have surgery and sorry for your wallet but you are a good man taking care of your pups!

Oh, mgulfcoastguy, I hope that Waldo's surgery goes well and resolves his problem. That plus your own dental bills is a tough combo on your wallet.

Waldo's eye seems to be better or at least healed over. Nemo went for his mid year checkup today and weighed in at 57 pounds. That was after I had him sheared last week. a couple of weeks he came up to me and I noticed he had a fishing jib through his right shin(a hook with a lead weight on the end). He was showing it off like a goth kid with a new piercing. Well I cut the weighted end off then pulled the hook through. No more unapproved jewelry.

Nemo weighed 57 pounds Wednesday of this week but the vet said that he is slowing down and probably will settle in the 60's . She still wants to neuter him though, a fact that I frequently remind him of.

An expensive dog toy made out of kevlar, also used in bullet proof vests , versus armor piercing fangs.

Ouch. I was hoping the toys were an effective distraction.

Today I figured out why my right foot has been hurting. The insole has been neatly removed on my current pair of walkers/gym shoes. It's a PITA to find them in 10.5 W , usually only Merrel which all local stores stopped carrying. I did find a replacement pair about a 70 mile one way drive(I no longer trust Amazon for shoes).

Oh, no! If the shoes are in good shape, you could get an aftermarket insole instead. (I would remove the other insole and replace both insoles at once so both feet walk the same).
But hopefully your pup quits eating your insoles so you don't have to deal with the problem again!

I guess your doggo just loves the smell of your feet. Weird as it sounds, maybe you should make a place for your shoes on a high shelf in a closet. Or at least on the floor in a closet with a door you can reliably keep closed (and the dog can't figure out how to open). Driving over an hour to buy new shoes because the dog stole an insole - again - doesn't sound like an experience I'd want to repeat!

Insole is located. I actually have the spare pair of shoes purchased, I'm just waiting until all of the house painting at my parents is over before I break them out. The shoes no live in the spare bedroom behind a shut door. That dog is tall and lanky, the only sure high spot that's safe is on top of the fridge.
