Peas fix nitrogen into the soil, am I correct? If so, would it hurt to grow amongst the other garden veggies? Actually I'm trying to do less weeding cause my beds are chock full of these wild peas...

~Me scratching head~ I'm guessing you mean vetch. Its a crop I have never grown. By report it is used as a cover crop.
If I had'ta make a guess any bang (for your buck) you will get from vetch is after you turn it under. I don't think its going to feed anything as it grows.
If you are the good scrounger I beleive you to be, your soil should be able to support with the manures and mulches you have already added to your soil; both crops and vetch.
Use the vetch to shade-cool and hold moisture in your soil, turn it under when crops are done. Take it as a two-fer.

It's also pretty stuff. I've seen several different varieties with blue, purple, yellow and white flowers on hikes.
