Is this a "bush" type of summer squash? It says 50 days, does that sound right? If so, I may plant some for a fall crop as here the first frost usually holds off till early November.

Yes, it's a bush type. 50 days sounds about right. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/3247375/images/AgR8NN4iidU1wy_OcyQm.png)

DDF is right on both counts. It will travel about 5 feet if given long enough to grow. Heh-heh. Silly me, I haven't been looking as close as I should under the leaves since it has been so hot - It can get fairly bushy. Think I found a really big scallop squash? Nope. Found a volunteer watermelon that had split open. ![](http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-signs053.gif) About 10 lbs. or so. Sheez. Never saw it start. And it would have been probably the biggest to come out of the garden this season. Luckily there is another one from the same volunteer that I have been watching for a week that is probably going to get bigger.

Gardening should be fun.

I find patty pans/scallop to be very large bush plants and a bit longer to maturity than other zucs. Mine just started making fruit last week and the regular zucs have been going for a month.
