Hi Chuck, Welcome.
Glad to hear you are growing microgreens. That is something I've also started this past summer on a home-use scale. I was even thinking of starting a thread on the subject one of these days. Right now I've got peas and sunflowers started with Christmas Day the goal of perfect maturation.

Hi Hensaplenty,it will be fun to hear about gardening in North Carolina. I have been wondering what it is like to live there. I am getting sick of the PA winters but I need to live somewhere where I can have a good garden! I assume that you have hens and I do too.

Just found this site, looks very interesting. Am located in the Yakima Valley, south central Washington state. Retired 16 yrs ago, after 34 yrs in law enforcement. Have also farmed all my life, down to 40 acre now. Have a relative decent size garden, sell root crops only out of it. Looking forward to watching this site.

Gianna: you have me convinced about being a perfect driver! Hope the fires are slowing down. Will be loading up the motor home on Tue and headed that way.

Hello! I do love reading everyone's posts. I only have a few tiny garden beds in NE Fla...so I love reading about what folks can do with real gardens.

Hope the fires are slowing down. Will be loading up the motor home on Tue and headed that way. The big one is pretty much contained, except for some in the back country. They expect full containment Jan 7. The smoke and ash showers have stopped. I have friends who lost part of their avo grove of young trees. They report that there are still areas of smoldering mulch that they are watering down, bucket by bucket.

Welcome everyone. This is indeed a very nice place. I had looked a long time to find a gardening forum that was goldilocks right. Not too large, not too small, just right, and with a good mix of posters, both old and new.
