Nope, we were spared the tornado damage, we got the strong winds and downpours with flash flooding, the tornado struck about a mile from our house.

Oh thank God, Rich. I'm so glad you and your family are ok. Have you heard from Darrell?
My prayers go out to everyone in the path of yesterday's tornados. What an amazing, but terrible force of weather.

Rich, glad to know you are okay. Does anyone know if anyone else on this board had any problems from the storms?

Well, May is coming in with yet more rain and thunderstorms! But, then this is generally our severe weather month here. I'm so glad I switched over to raised beds as 2 of my gardening buddies here have lost almost everything in their garden due to flooding.

A nice and slow/steady rain today, unlike the gully washers we have been having...

It's still early in the morning, but it looks like it will be a beautiful day. The fog has risen and there are some clouds in the sky, but nothing to worry about. It will probably be sunny all morning and there will be some storms in the afternoon. That's the weather we've been getting these past few weeks...

Ciao all-
Our forecasters have rain predicted from now until the end of next week. It's hard to know if these will be steady all-day events or whether there will be sunny breaks in between. The difficult thing for us right now is that the beds have been tilled but the stakes have not been placed yet. It could be quite a while before we dry out completely, so it's looking like the stakes will be placed on wet soil, not ideal conditions. I'm hoping to start the hardening off process for the tomatoes by Thursday with a plant-out projection of Monday, the 23rd.

Ciao all-
Forecasters were correct - we have had and will continue to have rain until Saturday. Then we get a break until Monday afternoon/evening when we may get a thunderstorm lasting into Tuesday. This is making it difficult for me to start hardening off the tomatoes. In addition to the rain, which in and of itself isn't bad, it's also been unseasonably cool, even for our area.

Tx, take back this heat. Triple digits tomorrow is unaceptable . I want tomatos to set!! Wow, that's hot Izit! We are staying in the 90's right now. Fruit set's gonna be iffy for a while for us too. Sorry, left the front door open and some of the heat got out. Will try to get it closed forthwith.

Our heating season was over yesterday morning. We had severe weather in the southern part of the state with even some tornadic activity down there. In the high 80's today with 75 tonight after 10.30p. The smell of lilacs after dark is awesome! We're slated to be around 90 tomorrow with a shot at severe thunderstorms. Got to start planting.
