Yeah, we have oil wells. Over the years, at Mom's place we've often been able to smell them at night. Twice in the last 3O years, the drilling rigs have drilled dry holes both north and south of Mom's woods. Within a 1OOO feet of the house, or so. We're lucky that they didn't frack up our well.
Hell, back in the good old days we even had a refinery not 25 miles away. Michigan had five refineries back in '82. Now, we only have one refinery in operation and that's at Detroit.
Gas is still $3.66 today.

Gas here, depending on what side of town you go has finally dropped to $3.54-$3.66. What I love is that the same company/supplier can range 10 cents difference within a mile or two of their own stations!?!?

it's been insane here. Truly insane over the past few weeks. These are Missouri prices, Ks are worse by 15-20 cents more. It's gone from $3.49 to a high last night of $3.89. This this AM it went down to $3.78
Almost daily it has been changing. There will be a difference between the AM price and the PM some days. I don't get it. Unless they are playing catch up to what they have been gouging the rest of the nation.
It was pretty funny yesterday when gas went to $3.89 - literally the gas stations and convenience stores almost went dead. I guess that's why it dropped 11 cents this AM.
With the lottery this high it was surprising to see the convenience stores that dead.
