The temp's about the same as this morning ~37F. I left the umbrella home and got my mile walk and picked up the mail. Just a light rain. Not bad.

It's overcast but the sun keeps trying to make an appearance. Was at 2 Celcius this morning but supposed to get colder & maybe rain-snow mix late Friday or Sat. morning then likely some snow on Mon. or Tues. Some below zero Celcius temps forecasted. Glad I got out & stocked up, just in case. Because here, on the southwest coast of B.C., we don't get much snow it can really throw a monkey wrench into everything & of course, there's always people who overdrive the weather conditions so I tuck in & ride out the snow thing. Then the rains will come & it's back to the same old again.

Stratcat - how you guys doing over on the east side? I reckon we've got about 6 inches on the ground right now - not as much as I thought we'd have. But it's still snowing.
Our kids are home-schooled. My son asked me last night if today was gonna be a "snow day." ;D lol!

Hi, Nofear. We got around 5" of the white stuff total. A little more than I expected, but not bad. The ground was quite bare, yesterday. The perennials do need the snow cover.
Shoveled a little snow today and fed the birds. The temp stayed in the lo-20s and is ~17F right now. I didn't take any walks today...

After midnight, it's at freezing. Around 9p, we had a little drizzle. Today we warmed to 37F(2.8C) and I got out for 5km of walking. Been inside for a few days so it was great to get out.

Here is today's weather forecast:
A strong springlike storm will affect the midsouth today with the potential for widespread severe weather... The combination of a strong upper level disturbance... warm and moist Gulf air... and strong wind shear will bring the potential for a significant severe weather event from late this afternoon through late tonight. Numerous severe storms should fire ahead of a cold front Sunday evening bringing damaging winds... large hail... and tornadoes. The bulk of this activity will occur after sunset... making the event more life threatening.

Yesterday, we stayed just under freezing until the middle-of-the-night when it went above. Thunderstorm woke me after 5a. Thought someone was pounding on the door. Today, we're having rain showers with the temp above 40F(5C). On my walk to get the mail, I just got sprinkled on a little.

Was 2 Celcius this morning - sunny out - wow, nice to have the sun - supposed to go up to maybe 9 - which is good for this time of year for this area. No complains.
Enjoy the coming weekend!

While *I* hink its been a mild winter, The neighborhbood (cock) robins think so too. They are fighting like mad across the back yard.
Evidently they like the forage in the yard too.
Maybe its time for a new block of suet.

62F and raaaiiinnnyyyyy.
Robins are in the garden (showed up in numbers during the week) fighting over the worms that are coming up for air. Not happy with the robins right now. Been a little short of worms with the previous drought.

At 1.47a, it's 35F (1.7C) and I'm not complaining. We had 44F (6.7C) today and it was great getting outside. I walked 5k both yesterday and today. Today when I was digging around to plant the garlic, I found a couple worms! Under the bale of straw, one earwig.

It's been dry since early summer here, we only had a few drops of rain in between, so drought was severe. For the last couple of weeks the temps were only a bit cold, not typical for this time of year, but now the temps have really dropped (-15 degrees Celsius) and we finally have some snow. Hopefully, more snow will fall so the water will be widely available in Spring. I just hope we don't get as much snow as Bosnia, Serbia and Montenegro, they have 4 meters of snow up in the hills!!! Those poor people...

I read about the snow and freezing temperatures in the villages. Electricity cut off, etc. "I hope they have pot-bellied stoves" I mentioned to Mom...

We have mild winters anyway but this has been especially mild, only a few mild frosts which is over now. Highs in the mid 70's, lows in the 50's. The wildflowers are blooming and the tomatoes are loving it and looking great. Still waiting for the cabbages to head up but have a nice little salad bed with mixed greens, radishes and green onions. Still getting a few little gypsy peppers to throw in and the chard is amazing. I'll be planting warmer weather crops in a few weeks, in a couple of months it'll be hot and a couple of months after that it'll be hellish.

Like you DR, I've got odd stuff going on due to how mild the winter has been. I just pulled the last ripe lemon off the tree (from last spring's set) last week. There are small lemons set on it from blooms in December, and now it is getting ready for a large spring-like bloom set. Poor tree doesn't know what it's supposed to be doing.
Today it's 51F and raining again.

Today we had 35F (1.7C) and the ground was quite bare. I got out for a walk and picked up the mail. We started getting some snow and a Cold Front went through. The temp dropped 10 degrees in a few minutes and the wind picked up.
We ended up with a few inches (7.6cm) of snow. I got out and shoveled for a few. The temp is now 12F (-11C) and we're back in Winter.
