For February our weather is good - think we're going to be double digits later today - it was raining a wee bit earlier but you can see the sun trying to break through the clouds - no snow, no ice, no cold, above zero - who can complain?

HELLO WORLD!
IT RAINED!!!
First time in about 18 months or so that I can remember the ground staying wet for 24 hours. Got about 2 ½ inches this week. Wouldn’t hurt anything at all if we got another 2 inches.
DOING THE HAPPY RAIN DANCE!

Hurray!!! Didn't realize ya'll had not been getting the rain we have till now. Hope ya'll do get the additional. Ya, I'm always jealous of the rain ya'll get along the eastern gulf region. The weather systems usually come down past SA, teasing us, then blow to the east. Hasta be a really strong system to get down here. I've lost 10 trees in the past 2 years to the drought - one fell on my house last year.

12F up from a low of 6 last night, and the north wind sounds like a freight train on the hill.

Finally, we are back above freezing for lows! Hard to believe but in 3-4 weeks the air conditioning gets turned back on...

We're above freezing for the second day in-a-row. I have been getting outside. We have very little snow cover to speak of. The ground and the Great Lakes sure could use quite a bit more, but not all-at-once.

Today we were above freezing and most of the snow is gone. The farm fields by Mom's are quite bare. After 2a, we're just above freezing with some rain heading our way.

I hope you really like snow, Bunkie. As beautiful as your land is, I don't think I could make that kind of sacrifice.
Hope you have a warm summer and a great gardening season this year!

Awoke yesterday to a fresh accumulation of wet snow. Temps were over freezing, so most of it ended up melting. On my walk to the Post Office, I saw a gray caterpillar on the sidewalk. Beats me... Today, sunny with low 40's (5C) and bees were coming out of the hive. Looks like we'll get some snow tonight and tomorrow. Not enough to cause trouble.

It's above freezing again today. Got out for my walk and something made me look up. Two mature Bald Eagles were circling over town! Saw the white heads and tails. Woowhooooo!
While out feeding the birds at Mom's, saw a bee come out of the hive and fly.

We've still been having warm weather. Had rain spitting on me the other night when I went for a walk.
Today we were in the lo 40's (6C) with abundant sunshine. Bees were coming out of the hive and flying around it.
Tonight, we're just under freezing with snow on the way. Maybe up to 4" (10cm). Winter Storm Warning to my south. We do need the precipitation.

More of the same here. I'm thinking I better get bundled up and put the chains on my shopping buggy wheels when I go out today.

Hej, I noticed that on my wunderground.com radar page where I have some gardeners I know bookmarked in the Favorites. That's warmer than in the house this morning! Woke up this morning to Winter Storm Warning. We've got a good 7" (17.78cm) of new, heavy snow and had 39F (3.9C). Shoveled a little and fed the birds. Got my mile walk (1.6km) and picked up the mail. With my new walking shoes, my feet are dry for a change. I could get used to that. ;D

3" of snow this morning, now it's rain with thunder and lightning. strange for Connecticut in February. we've had warm weather during the week and blasts of cold air for the last 3 weekends.

Today, we've been above freezing and sunny with a stiff breeze. Even though we have snow again, I saw bees coming out of the hive today. One even landed on the snow and walked around before flying home.
