Hi - enjoying your week?
We had rains then some sunshine & today we've got overcast with the threat of rain-snow mix heading our way this afternoon. I went out this morning so I wouldn't get caught, again, in the mess & it was very cold, not too much above zero, so likely if we're going to be rained on, we'll get some snow. A nice powdering in the mountains would be nice but ... not down in the Valley where people are driving to and from. Here, because we don't often get snow, there's always people who overdrive the weather conditions & there's far too many accidents.
I'll say today is Brrrrr with a chance of Brrrrr inc.

We're still having days with the temps above freezing which suits me just fine.
Tonight, we're in for a little snow. In the morning, some snow and sleet followed by drizzle in the afternoon. More rain and snow tomorrow night with a chance of freezing drizzle the next morning.

We have another chance this evening and into tonight to have another tornado outbreak... not as bad as the last one but...
"Friday's outbreak could be major. Main threats are: large hail up to golf-ball size, damaging winds up to 70mph, and tornadoes (a few of which could be strong.) Secondary threats will be heavy rain between 1-3 inches and flash flooding. The Storm Prediction Center has given a Moderate Risk of severe weather for parts of the South for Friday. At this time, the worse of the storms look to come in between 2pm to 10pm Friday. Dr. Greg Forbes, the severe weather expert at The Weather Channel, has given a TOR:CON (Tornado Condition Index) of a 6 out of 10 for North MS. This is a 60% chance of seeing a tornado within a 50 mile radius. At the Regional Rehab Center in Tupelo, MS, the current temperature is 48 and it feels like 48. Todays high is 74. Tonights low is 61 with a 50% chance of scattered thunderstorms. Fridays high is 78 with a 70% chance of strong storms/wind. Winds will be out of the South-Southwest at 20-30mph with higher gusts. Hope yall are having a great Thursday and I'll have another post tomorrow morning. Continue to pray for the tornado victims and those affected by damaging weather events."

Our turn to come under the severe storms. We are warming up overnight in time to have that line of storms come this way. Should be a noisy night tonight!

We made it thru with just a whole bunch of rain, lightning and wind, the hardest part was about the time it all ended for us was the power went out for almost 3 hrs. We woke today with clear skies and 35F.

We lucked out and missed any sleet and freezing rain the other day. Our days have been above freezing and I'm enjoying getting out.
Woke up yesterday to a Winter Storm Warning that was downgraded to a Winter Weather Advisory. It didn't snow and we had a nice thunderstorm last night with lots of rain.
Today we're getting a few flurries. Earlier, I was padding about in the cottage garden and noticed that my February garlic planting had a big hole dug in it. Filled that back in. Peaked under the straw bale and saw one large nightcrawler, one slug and three earwigs.

We had 6F (-14C) this morning. Northern Michigan had a -22F (-30C). Yikes! Pretty much the coldest of this winter.
Today, we're sunny and just below freezing. Spring is on the way.

We were 60F (15.5C) before noon with hours of the high - 64F (17.8C). Saw my first Daffodils popping up. The bees were out of the hive lots and flying around. A couple bees flew to the backyard with one walking around on the sunflower seed in the feeder. This "shorts" weather will never last.

Had some storms come thru lastnight, got the new garden watered again and went without power again for 31/2 hours... can't wait to get moved, as 3 of the power company employees live on the same street...

Today, we had 66F (19C) with sun. I got out for 5km of walks. Watered the pea patch, garlic and heeled-in plants. Picked up garbage in the yard that blew in. The Snowdrops are in bloom. Peonies are poking up. Not typical weather at all.

Our weather has been way warm for 12 days and counting. A couple times I've had my bathing suit on while out in the yard and garden. Our temps have been 30F to almost 40F above average lately.
Michigan has already had a few tornadoes this month. Extremely rare. On the 12th, a storm that spawned a tornado fizzled by the time it got here less than an hour later. I was at Mom's ready to hit the basement.
Yesterday, we had 79.5F (26.4C) and I even heard two mowers going! The buzzards are back and five were circling my neighborhood. I had the fan in the window and my house got up to 76F (24.4C) in the living room. We're at the end of winter!!!

It's supposed to be the first official day of spring after 10 pm today. The weather here has been a bit nuts - rain, rain-snow, hail, snow, torrential rains & back to sunshine - all in one day. It was snowing in a city west of here this morning but nothing here - it did rain & now sunshine.
I checked my balcony pots that I wintered my spring bulbs in & so far not even a sprout - but should be soon. One year I put the plant pots with bulbs into the storage locker (not heated) over the winter & in Feb. they had already sprouted but looked unhealthy because of no sunshine in the locker - put them out to healthy them up. Guess it's spring when the bulbs start to bud - right?

We had 78F (25.5C) today and I saw a turtle in Mom's backyard. I spent hours outside and got bit by a mosquito on the last day of Winter! Huh?

Today we had 85F (29.4C) in Mom's backyard. More than 40F above average. This is a July temperature! At my place in town, I saw my first Bumblebee this afternoon. Lots of Canadian Geese flying back and forth in their "V" formation. My first time seeing Swans overhead flying in formation relatively low over the street! Tonight, it's 64F (17.8C) at 11.40p! This weather has lost its mind...

With my new walking shoes, my feet are dry for a change. I could get used to that. ;D Well, that was too-good-to-be-true. Today, it was rainy on my walk to get the mail and my big-toe got wet! Around 50F (10C) out today, down from a high of 70F (21C) yesterday. Nice not to have the furnace run for almost a week. We're getting back to seasonal weather. Looks like frost Sunday and Monday nights.

Been in the 80's in the day and high 50's and low 60's at night now for about 3 weeks and the weather man says that it's going to hang around at least another week or 2... don't think we are going to have our blackberry winter here this year!
