60F at 9:30 a.m., heading for about 70, and sunny. Very pretty.
Days are expected to be mild and nights are forecast to be mostly lower 50s for the next week. It makes me itch to plant stuff outside, but I just know Jack Frost is waiting to see tomato and pepper seedlings outside.

Today we got up around the freezing mark. As I hadn't had a walk in a week, I took two.
The Full Moon is up in the Eastern Time Zone.

It's after 2a and I just came in from shoveling the new snow where we feed the birds. This is our first real snow of the season. When morning comes, we'll be scattering seed for the ground feeders. Nowadays, that includes the squirrels that used to sleep in the Winter. We had four of those rodents at once today. We have a chance to get freezing rain tonight and Monday night. On Tuesday, we're supposed to hit 53F(12C) with a shot at some rain.

Whooo, that's crazy for KC in January! But what's it going to be the day after tomorrow?
Currently 70F here at 5:00 p.m. We had a mostly sunny 77F high. But Thursday we are only expecting to get up to 58F for the high, low in the upper 30s Thursday night.

it's after 11pm and is still at 67'. Yeah, another night without the furnace kicking on! But will not be fun and games tomorrow. It is supposed to be heavy thunderboomers, high winds and possible tornados. Sounds like spring is about 6 weeks early.

Tuesday we had heavy fog and some rain. We had a high of 51F(10.5C) and that was around 7p. I got out for a walk and there was a light rain. Later, we had a thunderstorm and lots of rain. The temperature stayed above freezing all night.
Today we had on-and-off rain. The snow is gone, again. It was unusual to have two January Thaws this year. The wind has kicked up and before midnight the temp has fallen below freezing. We're going back in the icebox.

It was only a high of 46' for today. It's hard to beleive but in 4 weeks, we will be back in the 70's/80's for highs. Can't get over how early summer hits here.

We started the day out right at 0F(-18C). Stayed below freezing all day and I didn't get out for a walk. Had a little snow in the afternoon. Thankfully, the days are getting longer and Spring is closing in.
Sunday and Monday we should be above freezing with a chance at rain and snow.

Was out after midnight shoveling snow where we'll feed the birds in the morning, again. We're under a Winter Storm Warning that snuck up on me. I didn't see that one coming two days ago. In the last hour-and-one-half, the amount of snow predicted has dropped by 3"(7.62cm). That's fine by me. We have plenty already. When I look on Weather Underground radar for my area, it looks like the snow is petering out. Here's a link for the US Radar Stations. Click on one + in your area and you can mess around the radar to Show Storms (if there are any nearby), Estimate Precipitation, Animate the Radar Map, Zoom In... I like using these radars for seeing when rain/thunder storms will be arriving (leaving) when I'm going to be out walking or gardening. I'm out a lot. When there's Severe Thunderstorm or Tornado Warnings, the radars are really cool. After 1.30a, we're still below freezing with a few flurries falling.

We ended up with 9-10" (25cm) of fresh snow overnight. We haven't snow like that since the 2 February, 2011, blizzard dumped 13-14" (35cm) around here. The temp stayed just below freezing all day and I got out to shovel just a little. Fed the birds.
Tonight we're supposed to get down to -1F(-18C). Then, by Sunday, a chance for rain, snow and freezing rain.

Strat, you're gonna want to kill me - 64F and mostly sunny at 11:30 a.m., heading for 68F. Low tonight 54F.
I think I had better duck now!

You don't have to duck, LinFL, hehe. We had a low of -4.5F(-20C) this morning. I don't think last winter we went below zero. Just called my brother and it's time to drag the old snowshoes out. I haven't been on them since 2011 so I'll be sore tonight. Bright sun and 25F(-4C) out.

Had a great time snowshoeing. Lots of snow and an open river. Deer tracks. Birds.
Tonight before eight, it was 12F(-13C). I was out-and-about and there was some fog. Rain in the forecast starting tomorrow.

We had -1F(-18C) Sunday morning with bright sun. By afternoon, clouds rolled in and the temperature got just over freezing. I went snowshoeing again in my brother's town. We saw a really large Bald Eagle being hassled by two Crows. Also, Ducks floated by in the river. Some Woodpeckers and a Robin.
Before dark I saw rain on the window. Around 8p, we had freezing rain and the roads in town were getting slick. After midnight, it's around the freezing mark.

Our Winter weather is still odd. Thursday night, I saw some big raindrops falling with snowflakes when I was out for a drive. This morning we had a low of -1.5F(-19C) and the day hasn't warmed up to freezing.
Monday will be a mixed bag. Temperature above freezing with a chance of freezing drizzle and drizzle. Monday night, we're expecting some snow with that drizzle followed by some rain and snow.

Rain, snow, rain, snow...that must make for some nasty driving weather. Be safe out there.
50F now at about 5p.m., but it's about to start dropping fast: clear skies, low humidity, almost no wind. Looking for ~35F for a low. Should be a little warmer than last night which was our first (and maybe only) actual freeze this winter.

After ice and then three inches of snow yesterday and temps down to 23, today warmed up to 41. We dip down into the deep freeze again tonight! Hey Izit! Sure appreciate ya'll down in the southern portion taking that ice and snow for us! Up here in Winston we only got a dusting of the white stuff and no ice this time around. We had a high of 34 degrees yesterday with winds up to 25mph so it made it hard to get an accurate count for the annual bird count this year. Sitting right at 16 degrees this morning.

Hope your banana plants survived the freeze! Thanks, Izit. The small ones (<6' tall) that were inside the structure look good, and still have green leaves. The thing is I am not sure they are old enough to fruit this season. I am cautiously optimistic about the bigger ones. They took a lot of leaf damage, as expected. But the leaf stems and pseudostems still look green. I guess I won't know for sure whether they were adequately protected unless they fruit this summer.

There's been a change in plans. We're 39F(4C) right now with bright sunshine! I got out for a nice walk and will take another one later. Or two, hehe. Tonight, it looks like we'll get some rain turning to snow with the temperature dropping to just under freezing. Nothing major.

Maybe, just maybe, we will have a wet spring/summer this year.
